Very sad news about Philip, a very funny, unpretentious and humble man. Always great company none more so than the day I drove him to the BBC with his 80 Dansettes and watched in the wings as he produced this piece. He will be sorely missed. Steven Fisher

One of his very funiest stories he told was of driving vinyl requiem to Belgium... And the fully loaded Luton van or similar went around a roundabout over a motorway and did gently tip sideways and ended up leaning gently onto a lamp post over the motorway below... When he told it we were also on a roundabout over a motorway... So so so classic tales from the road....😂😂😂

I saw this live on telly in 1992 by chance, and didn't even know he had known me as a young kid and been on holiday together late 70's... I later saw him play at the RCA and show Vinyl Requiem, which directly inspired me to create my Tri-Phonic Turntable.... I spoke with him on the phone just before the end, in March 2022, and we laughed lots, as we aaaalways did... RIP xxx

thanks for making this available - as is often the case, I'd not heard of this artist until too late - ditto Mira Calix :-(
