@@BOLTHEAD619 bro Vasquez and Clary were horrible though. And those other players managed to stay healthy together for only two seasons (06, 07). That wasn't a consistent bunch. And during those times they were more run oriented. That wasn't Rivers offense yet.

2006: Marlon McCree fumbled the interception that would have beat New England in the playoffs 2007: Rivers had a torn ACL, LT had a sprained MCL, and Gates had a bad foot injury in the AFC Championship Game. 2008: Simply lost to a superior Pittsburgh team that year in the playoffs 2009: Nate Kaeding missed 3 field goals against the Jets in the playoffs 2010: #1 ranked offense and defense, however missed the playoffs by a game because of a horrible special teams 2011: the Kansas city fumble (Rivers and Hardwicks fault) and a blocked field goal in OT against Denver, missed playoffs by 1 game. 2012: Vincent Jackson, Mike Tolbert all gone and they settled for freaking Robert Meacham. Who was Rivers supposed to throw to? Danrio Alexander? Man could barley stay healthy. 2013: Defense couldn't get a stop against Denver on 3rd and 16 in playoffs 2014: the dude had like 4 centers that year and Keenan Allen and Matthew's were hurt down the stretch. Missed playoffs by 1 game 2015: so many injuries that Tight Ends were playing receiver 2016: Keenan went down in week 1 so cancel that season. Gordon also got hurt 3 yards short of a 1,000 yard season 2017: Younghoe missed a field against Miami and was blocked against Denver, and Lynn couldn't manage the game against Jacksonville despite getting 2 INTS in the last two minutes, missed playoffs by 1 game. 2018: The inferior coaching staff tried to use the same defense they used against Lamar on Tom Brady! 2019: Gordon's holdout, Philips going down early and Derwin being out a majority of the season hurt, the offensive line was so pathetic a chair could have played better on most games, and yes Rivers threw a lot of picks. With the exception of 2011 and a lot of this season, how can anyone say Philip Rivers is the reason the Chargers haven't won anything?

Case Y How Rivers had a HOF career behind that O-line is beyond me. Just shows how great of a QB he is. Now.... if they get Brady, it’s 💯 just for ticket sales and merch. There is no way that they honestly think that Brady would do better than what Rivers has done behind that O-line. Rivers has no fear of tackles... Just remember who Brady is at 40+. He doesn’t like getting hit. We’ve seen him dive away from tackles many times. How long will he last playing with that O-line?

As much as I have a love/hate relationship with rivers especially this season, I still hope they bring him back for another year or two. He loves this team and pours his heart out there on the field. Give him a good healthy o line and draft a qb who can learn under him, we still have a really great future ahead of us. No matter what though In The end I love filthy Philip Rivers and everything he’s done for this team

@@Michaeldemented94 thats exactly why I love foot ball. This year of the chargers is basically last year for the chargers. They just didnt win their close games like they did last year. That is usually based on 2 to 3 plays that could change the fate of close games. I believe the team had regress in alot of areas outside of just PR. I think their offense became stale and the defense isnt as dominant this year. thats a coaching problem and that could be a culture prolbem which usually lands in the owner ship and front office area.

Lord how I despised this man, watching him give it to my Broncos year after year. As I grew up and watched his consistency in performance and passion while our QB situation continued to cycle in and out, I came to realize I was just jealous. Jealous of what an insanely committed competitor he was in literally every moment, even when he struggled. What a fantastic career he had if this is the end and if not here's to one more ride for the most underrated QB of the 2000s.
