Really takes me back growing up watching chargers games with my grandpa. Say what u want about rivers but I love him and I loved watching him compete

Loved those 2 on the road in Pits then KC. Both of those they were down by 14+ going into the 4th Quarter which gave Rivers his 13th and 14th comeback win when being down by 14 or more going into the 4th Quarter. No other QB in history even has 10 comeback wins like that. In fact the win over Pits was the first time in NFL history that Pits lost a game at home when leading by 16+ at any point in the game, they were 230ish wins 0 losses and 1 tie, that put the first Loss for them.

Thanks for that PIT stat, super cool. I hate when people say Rivers is a choker or that he isn’t clutch when in actuality that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Sure he throws untimely picks sometimes, but ultimately he always gives his team a chance to win no matter the odds.

Hey where can I read more about that 4th quarter victories down by 14 stat. Real interesting stuff. Thanks

@@LiAR17ps3 love the name btw. You have to do some digging into stats. I personally first heard this back in 2018 during the game from an announcer after Rivers went back to back weeks on the road vs Pits then KC with comebacks like this. I didn't actually believe it at the time so I spent around 30+ hours or more digging into the stats on pro-football-reference to find this verify it. Rivers was never really that liked within the media so you won't find any articles written about it. One of the most positive articles ever written about Rivers throughout his career was after about 6-7 seasons as the Chargers starting QB, he was called "Mr. December" because he had more wins than any other QB during the month of December during his career, including Brady during that same timeframe. But outside that one article he was never really liked by the media so you won't find an actual article about that comeback stat, you have to do some digging on your own.

Hell yeah, LEGEND, it was really cool before the game after warm ups and the team goes into the locker room, he'd be the last one, and from a solid distance hit the cross beam on the field goal, accurate as hell

Love how Chargers let him go to Colts didn't want him in his final year, takes Colts to playoffs, Chargers out!

Thinking back now, I truly believe Rivers won coach of the year for Anthony Lynn. 17 out there calling audibles and protections and whatnot probably saved Lynn’s and Whisenhunt’s asses

Herbert is gonna be another Philip Rivers without the trash talk and turnovers. Same cadence and same fist pump

I’m a huge Rivers fan but Herbert is sooo sooo much better. He’s got a laser arm, incredible accuracy AND he can run.
@ImaginaryNate2 жыл бұрын
@@silverback7675 Oh yeah. It’s not that hard to be unbiased. Rivers is my favorite player, but Herbert is way better than him. Herbert already has the statistics to be considered one of the greatest, say if his career is cut short by injury soon. Knock on wood it doesn’t, but he already can be considered a great by what he’s accomplished in 2 years.

Rivers career as QB overall was a B- maybe top 15 he could of done more for the team to advance but too too conservative more of a traditional pocket passer..... drove me nuts when he didn't run for 2 yards for a 1st down when offense line falls apart
