There are many versions of this song: from Santana, Gary Moore, The Animals, Jeff Healey, A. King .... BUT I think, Philip performs it more soulful... and this virtuoso guitar playing ... THANKS FOR THIS GREAT VID!!!

Amazing performance by the enchanting Philip Sayce! An excellent show! Love the choice of black & white too! I hoped someone was filming something and this was great to watch! Thanks and thanks to to Rog for sending the link! One of the best shows I've seen in ages! : )

The earth has never seen or will ever see a blues song played in such a feeling! Feeling and sincerity to a minor blues piece!

Very, very good capture. B&W gets the gritty down. Philip gets the tune down! Powerful presentation of the club scene Blues. I love it!

Let's not leave Gottschalk and Lewak overlooked. It takes a band to make this sort of music, and they are both tight as hell. When they played Alchemy, Lewak was doing some seriously tasty, restrained stuff, clever hi-hat work especially. They can both bust loose or play as quiet as heaven, as this video shows. Praise them too, though Sayce will obviously be praised to the skies too.

To use that oft used word, Pete, simply awesome video. I'm so glad I persuaded you to catch this one. :-) This video is streets ahead of the one from 100 Club in May. Philip's voice and playing is so full emotion and his playing is off the scale and the b/w just adds to the rawness. Superb. Thanks. Phil

Until I saw this video, I thought Philip Sayce was a bit too full-on for me. This was some beautiful guitar work. I will look out for him to tour this year. Thanks Pete, for another gem of a video. Love the B&W, too!!

great guitar player!!!which camera did you use for this video?
@joskam09212 жыл бұрын
Does he have a fuzz pedal on and then rolls back the volume for the clean tone, or is it the Klon, or the tubescreamer. I can't tell.

I was at that show last night...really great video! What kind of camera were you using? They wouldn't let me bring my camcorder in so I had to take stills...

Anyone know if Philip uses stock single coil pickups in his strats?
@jamminwithjohnny19476 жыл бұрын
Both his strats are 1963s. The white one has pickups from a 58 stratocaster in it and his sunburst strat has it's original pickups in it.
