Some of the best guitar playing in the world. Pure, raw emotion, and weirdly enough, total control at the same time. Also whoever mixed this at the radio station deserves a medal. This is some of the best live recording I’ve ever heard.

It is my son who told me of Philip Sayce. Philip Sayce is a good guitar player and fun to watch. As a Canadian, I'm reminded of the late, great Jeff Healey and the kind of energy he put in to his playing. John Mayer is good. He's marvelous on both the Strat and his Martin acoustics. As an old guy who grew up in the 60s and 70s, it's great to see these young, talented players.

The difference with SRV and Hendrix is that they were original. This guy is ripping them off.
@cheiney8 жыл бұрын
SRV ripped off Albert King and Hendrix, and Hendrix ripped off Curtis Mayfield and Muddy Waters. It's a vicious cycle of the blues. It's like a musical torch, a language being passed on to the next generation of players. He definitely has that SRV/Hendrix thing going, but to say that those guys were purely original would be an overstatement as well.
@srv_lenny8 жыл бұрын
you could say that someone like kenny wayne sheperd is ripping SRV off , but Philip Sayce ? nooo , he sure is hugely inspired by him but he still adds his own touch. as for kenny , he simply plays SRV's licks note for note

During vacation in Novigrad I just talked after their soundcheck with the band because of their so fascinating heavy blues sound. I didn`t know them before. I was impressed how nice, polite and interested they were. In the evening I went for their concert at the Blues festival and it was simply great 🤘🤘. Thank you Philip Sayce!! A highlight in this years vacation and in my now widened music horizon. Martin
