I remember Phil playing at Suz’s Blues House in London Ontario! 1990’s - 20 people in the audience. No slight against Phil - the great Mel Brown often played there to 20 people, too! Peace, Phil!

I play electric because of SRV but what about his former boss Jeff Healey who literally played this all the time.

It's absolutely obvious to me that Philip's primary influence is SRV. His tone, licks, style and approach to the instrument are all SRV-esque. So yes, he played in Jeff Healey's band, but SRV was clearly a bigger influence on him. Seems obvious to me.

I really do like Phillips playing, however, he gets too caught up in playing as many notes as possible. He totally loses the feel of the song here. Killer chops, phenominal tone, just too much going on.

Which is exactly what Albert King was trying to get across to Stevie Ray Vaughn and several more and STV listened but still had his licks when they were needed , peace be with his family and anyone else who listens !!!
