I listen to David Mitchell rant compilations to fall asleep...I've listened so much I've basically memorized them and it's quite comforting. Like being yelled to sleep by an utterly disappointed god.

Yep, it's true for me, too. "The Unbelievable Truth" and Sandi Toksvig's and Miles Jupp's runs on "The News Quiz". I have listened to these innumerably and still enjoy them, and it's the familiarity and the humour that acts as a mentally calming 'white noise'. If I don't, my mind runs off on interconnected nonsense for hours and I get little rest. Thank goodness, and Hypnos, for David Mitchell et al. ❤

Same for me; the unbelievable truth, on multiple repeat hearings, helps me sleep. Must be due a new series. Also, podcasts of no such thing as a fish and frank skinner' absolute radio show have the same effect.

I listen to that podcast everynight to fall asleep. Richard Osman's lecture on nuts is the single funniest thing i have ever heard in my 57 years.

Holly Walsh can normally hold her own but her love of, or p'haps great desire for, nuts led her to utter destruction in that episode! 😄 "Cashews are technically mammals!" - interjection by David O'Doherty. 😊

osman talking about nuts, now you know that has to be solid gold
@nbell63 Жыл бұрын
@@juki6377 - nah, that was *mostly* gold. What lifted it to its glittery zenith was Mitchell's impromptu rant against Biologists and botanical nomenclature! 😆

I believed this because The Unbelievable Truth is my favourite going to sleep podcast. Interesting enough your mind doesn't wander off, but there's no plot or anything that requires an attention span

Before we reach the point of whether this is true or false, I don't understand how she can claim listening to The Unbelievable Truth means she's using David Mitchell to send her to sleep. As the host, David Mitchell probably speaks least of any of the people in each episode.
