Recently traveled on PAL..there on time record is terrible..PAL tardiness caused me to miss a connecting flight from LAX-FLL...PAL..PLANE ALWAYS LATE.

The SD360 and the Fokker 50 paved the way for the DHC-8-400 today. This is when PAL was under the ownership of the Philippine Government, then it was privatized the following year and went on a massive fleet modernization program beginning with the acquisition of Boeing 747-400s followed by the acquisition of then-modern Airbus aircrafts like the A340-300, A330-300 and the A320-200. The next 50 years for PAL would be a roller coaster beginning hitting it's lowest point during the Asian Financial Crisis 7 years later, achieving its 4-star airline status in 2019, and an almost repeat of the Asian Financial Crisis severity during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Now they're back on track as to become one of Asia's Best Airlines. Beginning with a fleet expansion with the acquisition of the remaining A321neos, and the upcoming A350-1000s with possibly adding more airframes like the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the Boeing 777X, and the A330-900neo and several A350-900s
