I'm honestly wondering how different our culture would be without the Spanish colonization? Like how much of the traditions would be left in this day and age?

@@Cicada-oo7ti You should listen to other pre-colonail Philippine music. The Kulintang ensemble, the Kutiyapi, the flute music. It's all truly beautiful. I've been listening to various Filipino music recently, and with a simple KZbin search you can find an array of videos of this music. It's not yet dead, and listening will help keep it that way. Amazingly, there are still places in the Philippines where there is virtually no western musical influence, so authentic Filipino music is still around. I'd recommend looking up and listening to master Samaon Sulaiman, for a start.

My English husband brought me here.. While we were relaxing in bed ready to sleep, he asked me for any good Filipino instrumental music.. I said I don't know.. Then he played this vid without me looking.. And I said that's I don't recognize the music, I thought it was something else and he finally said that hey, that's tboli music.. And I was so shocked.. Didn't expect that we have our music in KZbin now!! More pls...

We need more folk music coming out of the Philippines other than the annoying "OPM" nonsense playing. Real filipino music, like this is what more of us filipinos need to implement into our lives. Creating hybrid genres with our folk music sounds badass too, it shows our creativity.
