WE HAD DRAMA AT THE BEACH HOUSE! And now the kind of drama you may be thinking...
On this day, while looking at bird's nests, I found myself looking at something... a hornet's nest! It was just starting to form right near where I sleep! Yikes! Working together with all the guys, we try to destroy the nest, and get everything back to normal. The drama was real! And Kumar got stung... although it was pretty funny!
Living with Filipinos is always a unique vibe! This day was really a barkada day... and one we all had a laugh about. Philippines beach home life continues in Cateel, Davao Oriental, Mindanao...
But we are leaving again soon!

Kulas, next time you have bees or wasps, it's better to wait until dusk to remove them. They will be at rest/sleeping then, which makes them easier to handle. They won't be so active or apt to attack. I would also use the smoke, too, whenever dealing with them. BTW, it's probably not a good idea to be wearing brightly colored clothing when doing that either, since bright colors are what tends to attract them to flowers as they seek out pollen. 🌺🐝🌹🐝🌻🐝🌷 I think Jandee may need a refresher on what type of wasps those are, since he thought they were the nonstinging type. Unfortunately, Kumar's Kardashian lip proved otherwise. Make sure they don't try to rebuild their nest. You may have to keep an eye on that for a while. Amping! 🐝🐝🐝

Yeah, Jandee and Kumar misidentified it. 🤣 I'm wondering why considering how common paper wasps (lampinig) are in Mindanao and how pretty much every kid has a memory of them. Our family home got infested by them on at least 5 different occasions when I was growing up. They're also very easy to identify, they're thin, yellow and black, and build papery nests. The other types of common hive-building insects in Mindanao are putyokan or ligwan (Asian honeybees) which are fatter and build the classic hive of hexagons, and the kiyot (stingless bees), which are black and small and build weird hives with trumpet-like openings.

Man, dealing with those wasps must have been quite an experience. Reminds me of an experience back in elementary school, except that instead of wasps or hornets, it was those nomadic species of bee that made their temporary hive inside the classroom CR haha. And yeah I dare say those circular rags are worth buying as those are really versatile. And that shell you were playing with during the start of the vlog once belonged to a Nautilus. You could coat it with a varnish of some kind to make it look shiny as it could make a nice decorative piece.

I had the same thing happen to me. We rented a shelter at a park and when we got there early, we noticed a wasp nest inside the walls of the shelter on the outside. It was right where people would be to get their food. So I went and got a small vacuum cleaner and set it up right at the hole where the bees were coming in and out. For the next hour, hundreds of bees were sucked into the vacuum cleaner. Finally there was no bees left except one which was the one that had payback on its mind. I was standing about 10 feet away and felt something on my ankle. I started to feel some pain there and it got worse and worse until it was the most incredible pain I ever felt right on the worst part of my ankle. The bees got their payback. LOL I taped up the vacuum cleaner nozzle and threw the vacuum away.
