My summer job when I was in first and second year high school years ago was working at the nursery of DENR. We had seedlings from pines trees to fruit bearing trees. We had Foresters then. We were also asked to clean the roadside from weeds as part of my summer job. Those times were great and I made money. We didn't get paid right away. We had to wait for the funds for the Barangay coming from the Municipal Office. I was young and learned how important to maintain trees or vegetation of any kind. I laughed when Kumar called Kulas a wandering kid lol!

Back in the 60s the interior of Cateel were full of trees of depterocarp specei. It's sad to see that even the residual forests were not spared. Logging concessioners who are supposed to be doing reforestation as enumerated in their Timber Licensing Agreement were not doing so. Even the DENR failed enforce it. The annual Maximum Allowable Cut were ordinarily violated. On a happy note however people now have awoken and doing their share in their own little way to restore nature. I supposed right now they are having their coastal clean-up thereat. Amping Kulas your vlog is a stress reliever. You're making a gloomy day bright.

So much to think when you’re building right? We did the same thing when we’re building our round house in Tagnanan, Mabini three years ago. Thank you Kulas for showing the DENR seedlings 🌱We will definitely go to the DENR to see if we can get some trees to plant in our place. And Johndee thanks for showing us the vegetables soup or vegetables 🍅 stew.

It’s nice to hear you support local Filipino community in the Philippines 🇵🇭.., hope you will also support local government unit - municipality of cateel with their local ordinances by paying fencing permit, building permit. I hope you can inspire local residents there and to your YT viewers in Philippines to pay necessary permit. That is very common practice in provinces for non compliance to the local ordinances with homestead build Please post it to your fence the permit number as per requirement of the Office of Building Official. Two story house is not small timer. Your local fees will help cateel sustainability. When your project is done you will pay inspection fee and occupancy permit. Please don’t delete this comment. I have more to come. FYI: you are an awesome blogger. 👍

It is good to know that davao oriental specifically Boston Bacangga and Cateel and nearby towns have spring back to life and more progress after that devastation caused by windy typhoon Pablo. I first heard about these places thru my daughter an architect who was among those who responded to help people there by providing transistional houses thru an international NGO. "CRS" Catholic Relief Services.. Then.. I had a feeling that those places are dangerous to live, cause of the location, facing the Pacific Ocean. Now because of your vlog, i have change my perceptions. It is a nice place after all! Thanks Kulas for all your updates.. One day when my daughter (now living in Germany) will come home for a visit, we will surely include those places in our rpad trips. More power Kyle.
