Philippines Chocolate Hills in USA! | Big Sur & Carmel-by-the-Sea VANLIFE | Brits in America Part 18

In this USA travel vlog, we take a lesser-known drive to Big Sur through Los Padres National Forest where we were amazed by the colourful autumn leaves and gorgeous views - including hills that looked VERY similar to the Chocolate Hills in Bohol, Philippines!
After we eventually made it to the famous Big Sur coastal drive, we enjoyed the scenery and made our way up to the seaside city of Carmel-by-the-Sea. This charming place was a lot of fun to explore and walk around, and even had it's very own white sand beach which has to be one of the most beautiful beaches we've seen in California so far on this trip!

⭐ About Travel Beans:
Welcome to the official Travel Beans KZbin channel! On this channel, you’ll find a variety of travel and vlog content, in which you’ll see us in places like Thailand, Japan, USA, Slovenia, and more.
In 2017 we left home with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a sustainable travel lifestyle happen! We are now living our dream as digital nomads and want to inspire you to create your own story, whatever it may be!
After 5 years of aimless, yet enjoyable, backpacking around the world we found ourselves in New York City battling with depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on. After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle.
Our time spent battling depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. In our vlogs, we talk openly and honestly about our travel experiences, the digital nomad life and depression. We hope our videos can help to inspire you to create a life that makes you happy!

The high Sierra Mountains, the deserts, and the northern redwood forests have dramatic scenery, but there are lots of places in central coastal California that have quiet, sublime beauty. Thanks for taking us along!

"Private, no trespassing, I am guessing that's why it is so nice" -- No, there are tons of public, empty, beautiful beaches on that stretch. Please stop by Pomponio Beach and Greyhound Rock Beach on your way north, and walk down. Both are breathtaking.

Nice vlog Beans. I agree. The Pacific Coast Hwy. is gorgeous! I've been through there many times and I agree with Alex, little variations in weather, season, mood, always keep it interesting. Can hardly wait to see your reaction to the See Lions at Fisherman's Wharf. One thing I know we won't see, is Alex driving the van down Lombard Street.

You are both so entertaining....I just wish your videos were longer, they end too soon 😞. I remember my dad driving us up to Derby before we left England. The fog on the Moors was really creepy....couldn't see past the front of the car....and then suddenly we'd have to stop because of Rams appearing out of the fog in front of us. Beautiful scenery guys....enjoy the rest of your trip.

One of our favorite travel days was in Kauai when it was pouring rain and we drove up to Waimea Canyon in the mist and fog, spectacular and no one around. I grew up in Los Angeles, still live here, we are camping in Big Sur for a week in August. It's $36 a night. The best deal in all of California. (just make your reservations 6 months in advance) Also it's pronounced Car Mel (as in Mel rom the Spice Girls) :) YOU ARE MY FAV

Go to either Moss Landing or Elkhorn Slough. There are sea otters there, it's pretty much a guarantee and it's one of the best birding areas in the state. A local told me about that place and sure enough it paid off. I think we saw like 4 or 5. It's very close to where you are about half an hour North, so it's on the way.

I don't know this but the no trespassing sign maybe bullshit. I'm pretty sure in California you have to allow public access to the beach. I think the only the state can restrict access is if it's protected land.

Once again, I enjoyed your enjoyment. Was wondering how you were finding the driving on the right side of the roads especially where there is no line and no traffic. Were you concerned that you might pull to the left (incorrect side in the US) if a car came out of nowhere? That's a thing I'm concerned about if we visit the UK again and drive.

I was born in San Luis Obispo over 70 years ago and got a thorough lesson on the Spanish heritage of our place names. So I'll call it Paso "Robe less". After all its from the Spanish for El Paso de Robles, the pass of the Oaks. Others call it "row bulls" and that they are staking out some higher ground. This difference happens all over the american west which was once a colony of Spain. See Nevaaaada as opposed to Nevahda. There are some serious panties in a bunch over that pronounciation. But after all, who founded Las Vegas eh! And that Naciemento Furgeson Road that they were on crosses over the route of the Portola expedition (September of 1769). Two diaries from that expedition can be found on line as well as a decent article in Wikipedia.
