It was a smart move for the Philippines to feature Hispanic dances to a mainly Asian audience to highlight how unique the country is compared to its neighbors. Despite the heavy Spanish influence , people can still see the Asian core of Filipino culture. If the dance group were to feature indigenous dances, for example, then they would not be as memorable to the audience since other Asian countries have similar dances. Kudos to the group for thinking things through.
