I’d say. As a Filipino. Try to make a content just walking around and interact with the locals. For us, that’s really entertaining how our local filipinos treat foreigners. It’s a bonus if you can also make it funny too

My experience living in a province on Bohol, the people are unrefined and rud sometimes, they think nothing of cutting in front of you when you are in line. There are many brown outs, the phone service is not great, the ATM's run out of money frequently, there are no American style restaurants and the many loud barking dogs and loud motorcycles. But I am here with the love of my life so it is worth it

😅😅😅 oh my Bohol is one of the poorest areas and undeveloped places in Ph. As a filipino, I don't even wanna live there due to inconveniences, especially brown outs. If u dont wanna experience brownout, live in NCR or metro manila areas since it’s the capital and the government prioritize electricity supply in these areas. I know coz I have lived in Bacolod which is more developed than Bohol but suffers from brown outs from time to time.

then you come with the wrong mentality and that is stupid of you.. if you cant let go of the comfort of your own country then dont go to a developing country especially an island..it is an archipelagic nation imagine a government trying to govern a 7000 island.. so dont go anywhere and expect that it will be just like home

Omg I'm on your vlog 😂. I'm Filipina living here in US since 2019. I remember when we bought our first car here, first day... car got towed and fined us $50 for street parking within street cleaning schedule (We don't know the sched yet that time😅). Health insurance sucks here. I'm scared to death being sick here. A simple tooth extraction would cost a lot. In the Phils, its only $10. 😅 I definitely move back to Phils as soon as my kids finish their school here. Planning to live in the province though we have a house in the city. 😊

Hey J, yeah I remembered your comment and was like "let me add that in". There were emails from some people as well saying it was a nice resort or place we were staying. So I decided we would show that it's the public park and river! Wow getting towed is no joke in the US, can be like $300 or more which is scary. I'm getting used to the opposite, Lei's motorbike has to get serviced every couple of months and it's like $15-20 for a bunch of things. Hope you and the fam are good 👍

Really? My wife immigrated to USA from Davao and she says she will never live in PH again. People getting randomly electrocuted in Ph, hospitals that won’t treat you if you don’t pay, PH justice system is non existent for heinous crimes - people get away with murder all the time. Let’s say you get in a car crash in PH as US citizen: you have to pay for everything even though it wasn’t your fault. This America hate is ignorant

@@zenaslloyd5074 Maybe your wife is making $40 an hour but for Supermarket/Hospitality employees I dont think that much without the tips. Heard many stories about Americans doesnt want to call an ambulance because they cant afford to pay the hospital bills, and mass shootings as well which is not happening in the Philippines. You guys are probably doing amazing in America, I think Americans are leaving because they're tired of working for less with the high cost of living. So do I if I’m doing great in America I wont leave, but If you’re struggling you’d better run as quickly as possible.

The outdated hospitals are the only drawbacks of living in the Philippines' provinces. Governments in the Philippines are still having trouble maintaining that. The most frequent reason for power outages is the sustenance of electricity, which comes in second. The rest is perfect aside from those. You'll be fine as long as you're happy and content leading a very straightforward but tranquil island life. There is no noise pollution, political pressure, global issues, etc. Being from the island of Siquijor, that's just my opinion.

Noise pollution, global issues/politics has been a big stress removed from me. Being from Siquijor how do you view the crime here? If you have a good stable job. It is much better in the US than in the Philippines. I lived in the US for decades. It is costly but it is worth it. Clean, laws are respected, fair. Democratic and beautiful country as a whole, criminals are prosecuted even high profile cases. Even governors, mayors etc are put into jail. Which is not likely happen in the Philippines. Philippines in some areas are polluted, few crimes here and there, high cost of living in big cities. It is generally expensive is some places. If you have money then i think you can survive in the Philippines. You will enjoy the beaches and islands.

You've got some unique content in terms of how you've chosen to live your life. I'm interested to see what's next. Also, I'm probably going to head over there in a few weeks to see how I like it. I've spent lots of time in Thailand, mostly on an island called Koh Samui. i want to try something new. I'm much older than you, about to turn 64. I'm in pretty good health and not at all in need of shopping malls or fast food. I just want to live a quiet lifestyle within walking distance of a beautiful beach and a market where I can buy meat, seafood, and fresh produce to cook. And maybe a few simple restaurants where I can get some healthy meals that taste better than my own cooking. I'd love to hear more about your favorite destinations and see more of your surroundings. Also, I've heard inconsistent stories as to how long you are allowed to stay and how often you need to go to immigration for an extension. I hope you can address this. Thanks!

The infrastructure, from ascul dogs with rabies to waste water in the streets (no septic drain fields but lots of walls with broken glass), just didn't appeal to me (I could mention much more). It seemed most "men" there were thirsty to find a GF / bride. Also, very religious and traditional (or snipped and pretending to be). But, if you're free-thinking and desire a dual income no kids lifestyle, I found it was a no-go. Peace.

My girlfriend's sister always wanted to immigrate to the US all her life, she was able to do it just recently, just a few months in and there's a mass shooting in Texas just a few days ago where she's living just a few minutes away, she's now terrified and now she wants to go back home, sometimes you don't appreciate what you have till you don't have it anymore (peace and quiet) definitely mass shooting is very rare in the Philippines
@akogepayo
@akogepayo Жыл бұрын
Mass shooting is none-existent here, absolutely zero. The shootings we have here are different in nature, the motives are different, so, it is not as deadly as in the US. In the US, a shooter will shoot anyone on site, with an intention to kill as much people as possible, this is on the level of terrorism. Yes, we have terrorism here at home, this can be compared with mass shootings in the US because the outcome is the same.
@mytextstories
@mytextstories Жыл бұрын
Gun shootings are.common in the US because some people there have no one to run to when they're sad. They are always alone because individualalism and independence are encouraged by parents. SOME parents kick their kids out when they turn 18 leading young people homeless , drug dependent and depressed, especially when they're having a hard time on their finances. No one to depend and if they got money,they'd play violent games and these factors contribute to having weak people who would shoot others. Weak men create difficult times. If only they are strong, guided accordingly by their family, they wouldn't shoot people.
