You might just be missing the point here Gweilo, is not so much the amount of one or two expenses. Is the increasing frequency of asking and increasing amounts that will soon get out of hand. And looking at the conversion rates from pesos to dollars (while informative) it doesn’t help. Ask yourself, what’s the average daily or weekly salary here. How many weeks of Filipino pay did you just shelled out? You will soon see. But in the meantime, we’ll keep watching.

My pinay gf never asked me for money until recently. In September her mother was diagnosed with cancer. She needed fast surgery, then treatment at home. 2 weeks after surgery she passed away. I helped my gf with 70k (all this - surgery, medication, funeral - cost much more but the family contributed too). A month later my gf did an ultrasound an found out that she has a huge fibrom in her uterus. She had to do surgery or wait until she will die. How could I let her down? Another 100 k (surgery, treatment, and money to live one month without work). So sometimes expenses are not just peanuts, if you are unlucky to choose an unhealthy woman. And yes, we met 5 times already. And yes, I requested receipts for all the major expenses. But my financial support will end here. I pray that the biopsy will be fine because if she has cancer I really don't know what to do anymore.

Tru Story (repeated with diff guys and yound girls many many times) Oldish German guy in Pattaya (Thailand) bought a cheap motorcycle for his Thai girfriend. After a while, when he was away, she told him she was riding the bike to see her dad in a Northern province (1500 km away). He told her to take a train and he will payvfir her journey... however she insisted and went on her bike. When he went back to Pattaya, the girl no longer has the bike. Apparently, she gave the bike to her dad to use as a motorbike taxi, so that he can make a living..😂😂😂 sounds familier?

A few months ago this channel came out with a "China's Economy Rocks" video. Now, I am seeing news that car dealers in China are smashing cars that can't be sold, mortgage holders are demolishing homes with "underwater" mortgages, hospitals are closing and doctors are not being paid, stores are closing, unemployment is rampant, people are sleeping in parks, train stations, and under highway bypasses and more. While you do not speak Chinese, it would be more significant if you could have stuck it out in China and continued reporting from there. The Chinese Communist party is in trouble and you have decamped China for a US friend and ally. Why?
