Hey man, thanks for this video. I'm currently struggling with my Philips Ambilight TV. It happens to run with Android OS, it's a 65PUD7906/77 and there are no options to link light and bridge on the tv menu. Have you ever came across a case like this?

Hi mate, can you get the hue lights to switch off when you turn the TV off? I have philips hue linked to philips ambilight tv, however, when I turn the TV off I want my lights to also turn off, however, after switching off they turn on again to their default light setting - do you know a fix for this?

Does the Ambilight + Hue Feature only work with original Phillips Lights or also with 3rd Party Lights? I'm thinking about buying a Hue Bridge and connecting it to some DIY Zigbee LED Strips. In the App they should appear just like every other Philips or 3rd Party Light. But i wonder, if they'd work with my TV Ambilight as well...

I checked Philips FAQs: "Please make sure that the TV is running on the latest official software version. All Hue components (bridge + lamps) should run on the latest respective firmware version as well. If some of the Hue lamps are still missing in the list of configurable lamps, please check the type of Hue lamps. Only Hue lamps that are classified as “Color Light” or “Extended Color Light” can be associated with the Ambilight TV. " and theres a Table attached wich says Hue Lights with a Zigbee Device ID 0x0200 or 0x2100 are supported. No word on 3rd Party Lights...

Hi, I have an 55OLED754/12. Software is up to date. Bridge 2.1 up to date. New pair of hue play bar double pack. I connected the bridge to Philips Hue app, the hue play to the bridge, the TV did recognized the bridge and could add the bulbs to the ambilight menu. Everything works fine. After first off/on the system is scrambled. In the TV’s menu, at the ambilight hue bulb setup appeared the third parameter (DISTANCE) which wasn’t there before - only Angle and Luminosity as appears in your video. Can you tell me why would appear this? So this is new parameter for the hue bulbs but mostly what is disturbing is that some errors too are coming with this. The green color is missing (is more like a darker yellow, turquoise is kind of a white) but most annoying is that there is a delay of the color change reported to the colors of the TV's ambilight. I tried with android app from phone but also from IOS too but same result. Do you have any idea what could be the reason? Thanks in advance for your help. (:

I have a Philips 55 6262pus/12 I have ambilight +hue ....but 6 months ago I had to do a reinstallation but to my surprise the +hue was gone! I still have ambilight, but can't control my bridge hue...did I lose the app/driver?

As far as I'm aware it's not as the ambilight + hue only lets you put lights in certain places around the screen (and thats not the bottom)

Amazing! That is impressive. I miss it so much!!! I'm so annoyed that my lights lost sync after one year. The only possible reason that came to my mind is the TV software update. Myself I didn't change nothing. I have reset Philips Ambilight+Hue configuration a few times and final message says I'm ready to go but still not working. In the last I used to see in the Hue app that the lights were under the TV control and I could only disconnect them from TV. Now instead they seem all free to adjust from the app. I would really appreciate your help and advice! Thanks man

All I can suggest is contacting philips support...It seems that they just arent talking - maybe try factory resetting the tv and seeing if that helps

I don't know that tv, nor can I find any info about it I'm afraid. You shouldn't need the hue bridge for built in ambilight to work though. I would suggest contacting Philips support for more help :)

ive got my app working perfectly on my 6800 series. you can set each side of the bezel to a different colour. i just bought a bulb and bridge setup and my god its a bit of an investment. i hope its worth it.

Hi there, my Philip amblight tv used to work with my hue lamp (I have 2 lamps), but all of a sudden, one of it (the right lamp) does not configure with the tv. Been trying to fix it for months. I have the old bridge v1 and if this still can’t be fixed, I’m just thinking to get the new bridge v2 instead. Please help me. Don’t want to waste money if this can be fixed. thank you.

To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t work with v1 any more - that’s the sort of thing Philips would do! Try restarting the hub and the tv and see if it helps :)

For this to work you need the philips ambilight tv, to add hue bulbs you will also need the hue hub. The sync box is a different product to turn a normal tv into an ambilight one, the setup process is different, and there are definitely better alternative products out there to the sync box.

Seems like the sync box has an option to turn off background light but not on the TV. I hope they update the software soon!

I personally think that best picture settings are very personal (and depend on the environment) - I have mine set to: Vivid; colour 75; contrast 100; sharpness 7; brightness 50; colour enhance max; colour temp cool (and the rest to the default/middle value)

@@WillSurridgeTech I can't find the up scaling all I see is optimal and then I save it to on in hdmi section for my ps4, since connecting my Pro to this TV it sounds like a jet, and it was never like that with my LG TV which wasn't a 4k tv

HDR upscaling is in the advanced picture settings under contrast. But that shouldn't have any effect on the sound! Sounds like a bigger problem to me...

Technically there isn't really such a thing as a 4k hdmi cable. A standard high speed cable can handle 4k. All I can think of is something in the ps4 settings, I've never had a problem like that, but I also dont have a ps4...Sorry I cant be of more help - maybe the philips technical support could help more.

@@WillSurridgeTech Ambilight on my brand new 2020 TV works and the TV also recognizes the Hue bulbs. (Yes i did set which light is on which corner and they blinked once when i did that) So the setup went all ok, but the lights just stay on white color. I turned the TV off waited a bit but still no luck... I'm little concerned that as soon as i set the TV up i updated it to latest firmware and maybe there's a bug within this new version. I should've tried them first on the Android firmware it came with, but there's no option to go back of course.

Oh that's strange - in the hue app there should be a little notification saying that those lights are in ambilight mode and unless you exit it then you cant control them - does that happen?

the feature is pretty cool but don't get fooled guys. it is very limited. for example as of now Can't use any assistant to turn on or off Ambilight so no automations. You have to rely on the tv remote. The tv light while is connected to the hue bridge does not appear in the hue app meaning good luck trying to use any hue entertainment with the tv light or even just use hue app scenes, colour change etc on the tv light. oh and I have a oled 2022 so it's certainly not an issue from compatibility
