The Philips K40 was the last decent, quality TV in Europe. Later televisions were throwaway models. The FSQ 45AX tubes were introduced in 1985 with the K40 chassis.

@@ismiismael The TVs of the 90s were famous for their poor design based on lower costs. Shorter lifespan of picture tubes, mediocre quality speakers, bad and ridiculous chassis designs based on planned obsolescence, making service a nightmare in some cases, etc...

@@philipsk7 thank you very much for informations But for you . What is the best CRT then or who are the best ? I heard Toshiba from end 80's to 90's are pretty good and reliable because of the interior design who help stay clean from getting dust

@@ismiismael For my best crts are the Philips-Valvo with delta gun and then the entire Philips 20AX series. They work for decades without problems. The second generation Philips 30AX are also excellent, they offered very bright and sharp images for decades in a well-designed chassis like the Philips K-40, for example. The first series of 30AX gave quite a few problems. In some cases the first series of Philips 45AX also do not have a good reputation due to focus problems and burnout after a few years of operation. Planned obsolescence was already quite blatant in the mid-80s, although not as blatant as it would be in the 90s and 2000s.

Tolles Teil! Ich dachte immer FSQ gab es erst 1988 und nicht bei so großen Röhren. Echt schönes Gerät mit toller Ausstattung und Sound!😊

Danke :) FSQ gabs wohl laut den Katalogen vor 1986 auch schon, weiß jetzt auswendig aber nicht welches Jahr genau.

@@datom844 Ich hab hier noch einen kleinen CP90 mit FSQ herumstehen, ist aber leider defekt. Ich glaub, der ist aus 1987 oder 1988. Schön, dass deiner einwandfrei funktioniert! 🙂

@@datom844 Der Zeilentrafo war kaputt, den hab ich sogar ersetzt und es gehört auf jeden Fall Fokus und Screen eingestellt. Ich hab mich das nicht mehr getraut, da er nach ca. einer Minute zum Riechen beginnt, also als ob was durchbrennen würde. Ich hab ihn dann sofort abgeschaltet und seit dem steht er. 😄
