Yes 6 litres is too small for our house - 10 or 12 litres would make more sense. A major objection I have is the cost of the kegs. Cheaper to buy cans and that should not be the case. The video is running while I type this on the phone - I can't help commenting on the enormous loose foaming head - crap dispense in my book!

Honest question, the pd is on offer at 215,franziskaner kegs are 30 quid. Works out 3 odd quid a pint, bottles in tesco are 4 for 6 so 1.50 a pint. Apart from in my point of view being able to easliy buy kwak kegs, whats the benefit of the pd, is it that much better from mini keg tham bottle?

Hi Mr Hooligan, great review. I have one of these but when I put my keg in the pump keeps going and then shows a fault. The only good thing about this system is that it is simple to use. The beer is generally fairly low in carbonation and the pour produces a big frothy head. I designed a much better home draft delivery system 15 years ago but no one was interested...

Thank you Mr. Hooligan! I've asked this because I've already a similar device from HKoenig, it works with the universal 5 liters barrels with CO2 cartridge, but the refrigeration fan is extremely noisy and can't leave the device in dining room. I'm really considering to move to this device.

redsky106 I’ve had my PD since Christmas Day (gift from the wife) and have to say BH are pretty good in terms of customer service and delivery times. All my deliveries arrived in less than 4 days and most of them have been next day. BH did have the usual delivery congestion over Christmas and new year but were better than a lot of companies at getting orders out fast and not having customers waiting too long. A slightly different issue is the fact the BH website has a few bugs. This means that once your order enters the warehouse system it disappears completely from view on your account and can only be seen once it’s been picked up by the courier and marked as dispatched. Orders are not sent with either yodel or parcel force and you do get a notification either via text (yodel) or email (parcel force) on the morning of delivery. The CS can be a little abrupt at peak times such as Christmas week, but overall they were happy to help either via their CS messages on the website or via twitter. Overall I’ve been impressed with both the PD machine and BH over the past few weeks and I’m glad I bought a PD machine as the Leffe beers are some of the best beers I’ve ever tasted. Joff 👍👊🍺🍺

The Bier Hooligan they are they are using parcel force also !! If you phone to order you can request that your order goes with Parcel force rather than Yodel. Personally I’ve had no issues with yodel and my deliveries from BH. Just a quick question if you don’t use BH for PD kegs they where else can you buy from in the UK ?? With BH being an AB InBev owned company they have monopolised the sale of PD kegs within the UK making BH the only official UK supplier of PD kegs. Joff

@@joffhall81 thanks for the info joff, I was just going on other people's reviews but I suppose some people will have good service and some bad, they seem to have a decent selection of beers, fancy the leffe one it's about 8%, need to take it easy with that one.. People have complained that when you return the empties you don't get credit on your account easily, think its a good idea as it helps reduce the cost of the kegs a bit,.. I also heard it can make a bit of noise as well, anyway I will think it over,

redsky106 the beer tokens can take up to two weeks to be credited especially at peak times but most people and everyone I know have always got theirs eventually. Yodel are what they are in terms of deliveries there is always people who are going to have issues and some will never. I’ve had delayed deliveries before from yodel but I’ve had the same with DPD, UPS and UK mail. As for the PD making a noise there is a slight low noise off the fan that spins the that throttles up and down depending on ambient temperature and how hard it needs to work to keep the keg chilled. The other noise is the pump that pressures the kegs. This can be quite loud but is only heard for a short time when pouring (30-45 seconds max). After that the only noise is the fan. They are a great system with a decent selection of beers but quite expensive at full price. Mine was bought on Black Friday for £172 with one keg but the wife kept it as a gift for Christmas Day. The Leffe range is stunning and all the beers I’ve had are great especially Leffe Noel and Leffe Royale (whitbread Goulding). I’ve also got a Leffe Blonde, Leffe Brune, Leffe Ruby and a Leffe Royale (cascade) to try when I get round to it. If you get the chance to buy one then go for it but not at full RRP as they are a massive outlay. I can say if it wasn’t for the Black Friday sale I wouldn’t of took the plunge and bought one as I already had a sub. I do have to admit that the the PD does have more of the beers I like but I was also happy with my Sub as it does just as good a job but with smaller volume. The sub seems more geared up to lager drinker where the PD has more beers/IPA’s such as goose island and Leffe. Joff

Thank you for the video. I thought it would be nice to pull my own pint in the kitchen...until I found out that a pint of Stella from a Philips keg as sold on Amazon works out at £3! There are some pubs out there that will sell you a pint at that price and you don’t have to get involved with returning the kegs and buying of the machine!

Both use the same delivery system brewery fresh beer in a bag in a vessel. Main considerations if your only buying one are the selection of beers and size of vessels. The sub all heineken owned beers 2 litre size torps. Philips perfectdraft all abinbev owned beers 6 litre vessels. Both serve fresh draught beer👍

It’s not at all mate. I find it really easy. You just print off the label at home stick it on the box and send it back. Each keg returned gets you £5 (100 tokens) added to your account. That alone makes it worth it

Great review. Bought my PerfectDraft after seeing this! Just had it for my B'Day and I cannot get lager to pour like it should be i.e. from the pub. I've cleaned the glass, bought Becks glasses to match the Becks glass. Chilled the glass. Poured at 45 degress. It comes out foamy so yes does have a head, but there are no bubbles coming from the bottom of the glass. The lager is flat everytime. Any tips?

Good review. FYI: To reduce the head from forming too quickly and to cut down on waiting time it is important to fully open the tap straight away and keep it fully open the entire time you're pouring. The manual says that having the tap partially open, even for a few seconds, encourages a build-up of froth.

Need to pour the foam off kn first pour. Just pull lever down for a second or so to wet the line then throw it away and pour ur pint properly
