Hi Guys I have to admit that Hasseroder is my go to Pilsner on the PD and has been for years. It’s not that popular for some reason and it’s one that goes under most people’s radar. For me it’s the one that is most like a traditional pilsner with a citrus initial taste (lemon & lime) a light cracker malt backbone and a good hoppy pilsner bite on the finish. The Hasseroder premium export is not technically a pilsner and classified as an “Export strength lager beer”. This will mean it’s got a slightly more amped up taste and more malt presence but the finish will be more subdued and balanced. All these export strength lager beers are all very similar in how they flow in taste and it tends to be more balanced with slightly amped up citrus flavours and malt presence and the bitterness toned down to balance everything out.
