⚠ Correction - The 2100 offers 31,000 brush strokes, not movements. It doesn’t achieve the 62,000 movements often quoted with the more expensive models. It is configured differently.

My dental hygienist told my today 62000 strokes is just a marketing trick because nowadays on the newer devices they count 31000 strokes twice (back and forth) = 62000! Just bougth a 2100 with 4 brushes included for about 20USD at Lidl... great deal!

My Sonicare Protective Clean 4300 broke after roughly 3 years of use. It just went dead for no reason. It doesn't power on when I press the button and refuses to recharge on the charger. My only guess as to why it broke down is maybe the rubber seal on the top of the toothbrush has worn out letting water inside the toothbrush. Phillips has some serious reliability issues with their toothbrushes as it is unacceptable for a Sonicare to break so quickly. Heck I even own a 10+ year old Oral B triumph toothbrush that I managed to replace it's battery and it's still working just fine. The only problem now is that I really like the brushing experience from a Sonicare toothbrush and at least for my teeth it cleans better than the Oral B. So since I am forced to buy another Sonicare toothbrush this time I will buy the cheapest available which is the 2100 model shown in this video. The price of the 2100 is pretty fair for an average 3 year life span.

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry to read your brush failed so quickly. Perhaps if you are worried about reliability, consider other brands of sonic toothbrush. Same cleaning action made by a different brand? SURI for example is a newer brand, but focused on being a more environmentally considerate option and have even designed their brush to be repairable. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKnFgmuwaqpqbc0

@@ElectricTeeth Thank you for replying! Unfortunately in Greece where I am located you can find only Oral B and Sonicare electric toothbrushes so it's either the one or the other one. Oral B is the most popular choice here as you can find them literally everywhere and from what I have read from reviews they also have excellent customer service where you even have free shipping to return the faulty toothbrush. Sonicare on the other hand gives you only a 2 year warranty and you have to pay for the shipping to return the faulty toothbrush. But as I have experienced Sonicare toothbrushes break down after the warranty had expired.

Suri ship to most countries including Greece 😁 but I totally understand the convenience of opting for Oral-B or Sonicare.

jon is wrong. you dont need a pressure sensor for the sonicare 2100 because this type of toothbrush DEMANDS the user to just let the bristles gloss over the teeth for it to work. pressing too hard will keep the vibrating bristles from effectively cleaning your teeth.

Indeed, I agree you don't NEED a pressure sensor, like you don't need electric toothbrush to clean the teeth, but it is preferable. Unfortunately many do press/brush hard and don't realise that the bristles are not cleaning effectively.

I find it despicable that Philips does not provide the wall adapter for this brush under the guise of environmentalism, as if I'm supposed to believe that. What am I supposed to do, Philips, plug it into my computer? Please.
