The wonderfull echo deck, besides the idler that needs to be replaced each several years this is a deck that is pretty reliable and one that doesn't wears out. It can be quite noisy, but that was just its charm to me.

Does the 6860 have a V2000 like absolute time counter? Obviously yes. Guess I know what I need next for my collection ☺️

the “cassette” function was always a strange german thing never to be found by manufacturers elsewhere. Is rare, but practical as I always tended to press eject just to avoid tape-to-drum innecesary contact, whereas a “cassette” function would have come in handy. My grundig SVR4004 had that function. When I was a kid, we first owned a Thomson (jvc rebranded) and it was a charm. its lp and the remote programming were great. When my neighbour asked me to programm her grundig video2000, it was a pain in the ass. Whenever you spend on any step more than 3 or 5 seconds, it rests itself, and back again. It always make you to have it written down in its grundig/philips particular way, so you could eventually achieve it. Even my nanny coul programm our thomson!

but the later grundig with the number keypad was easy to programm.

Hallo ich gebe dir mal ein Tip ich habe diesen Recorder auch. Damit du dir da nichts kaputt machst möchte ich dir was da lassen. Und zwar hast du sicher gemerkt beim Einlegen der Kassette ist ein kleiner Wiederstand beim rein drücken der Kassette. Der Recorder hat eine Funktion wo du die Kassette NICHT rein schieben musst. Leg die Kassette in den Schlitz und schiebe sie nur soweit bis sie anliegt. Dann hast du doch am Gerät eine Taste wo ein Pfeil nach unten zeigt die Pause/Stop Taste. Drück da dann mal drauf der Recorder zieht sie von selbst ein ohne rein zu schieben. Ich hoffe mein Tip ist für dich Interessant

I have the same model, after lubrication today it suddenly dont display anything or any sound, nothing on the vu meters. Do you know what that could be?
