The only friend that Master Brashear had back in those days was a white man from Brasil. He was in that same program with another brazilian guy. Those 2 pioneers from Brazil with the help of Master B., started the improvement of Military diving Program in Brazil. Alberto Jose do Nascimento was the only guy staying with Master B. at the Navy base bedrooms, because the white american dudes didn't want to stay with Master B.

Hospital Corpsman First Class Petty officer here. Been retired since 1991. Even today, I still feel like an ambassador for the US Military. And Like today in my travels about town, I still want to tell people about our Heroes. And I told someone today about Master Diver and Master Chief Brashear. Today our young make heroes and idols out of those who are paid as much as two Navy Admirals put together and they the "Deified" have no sense of honor. RIP Masterchief. May your fame and name live forever !

Mr.Brashear, as a fellow military veteran and Chinook mechanic it's very encouraging to see you continuing your father's legacy. My father was also a Huey pilot in the Army. Your father is one of my heroes and very inspiring person. I salute you both.

I've always loved this movie. Just finished watching it for about the 5th time in all these years. I was a Navy corpsman myself. What a wonderful interview by BMCM Carl Brashear's son! Bless his heart....he must've been just a bit nervous! "Kneep Dee Bends"! 😳

I jus finished watching the movie for the second time. It's been a minute so I hadn't remembered a lot. Viewing again I now recall what a great hero he was. He was truly an amazing black man. He went through so much due to his skin color. However, he would not allow discrimination deter him. He was determined and succeeded 💯💯💯 His son also turned out to be a success!! Simply beautuful🥰☺😊

Saw the movie when it first came out, very inspirational. It's sad kids don't have films like that now. God bless you and your family sir. Not a big fan of Obama though, I don't like race baiting Marxists. Probably because I believe in god, working hard and educating yourself, the 3 things his supporters didn't like.

I have a feeling that it was because of the Obama remarks...i don't like Obama but I have respect for Mr. Brashear and his father because he speaks the truth. They have morals and values and the don't "quit and feel sorry for yourself attitude" wish more people had that attitude today, especially black Americans.
