PLD shouldn't have signed that huge extension if he didn't really want to play for LA. True professionals honor their contracts.

As a kings fan it hurt losing vilardi but the guy cant stay healthy, if he manages to play a full season he is a phenomenal player but it hasn't happened and last season in Winnipeg was no exception. Iafallo was a fan favorite as well but his production of 25 points give or take was replaced by laffy and not worh the 4+ million annual salary the kings were paying him. Im not validating this bad trade because pld didn't get the job done i just wish we would have gotten actual assets for losing these players and a second round pick that was essentially trading durzi away as well for the pld trade to happen.

Durzi kept getting unnecessary penalties, Roy is a turnover problem. Vilardi just can’t stay healthy but does have some skill

Kings got Darcy and dumped an albatross of a contract and a cancer in the locker room and on the ice. Vilardi will never be healthy like Arvy. If Iaffallo stays does Moore score 30? And does Laffy play? So in essence we lost a 2nd round pick, but gained an average goalie who's contract allowed Kings to sign more players. Are they the right players? Only time will tell. But it also opens up 3 spots on the roster for the kids. They should have played the kids when Blake tore down the roster 5 years ago. Just my opinion. Go Kings Go!

@@TheRAGE154 Vilardi has 'some' skill? He was the single most skilled forward the team had drafted since Toffoli and that's a long time ago. There was a reason he was rated to go in the top four in his draft year. Players who has 'some skill' are more like players who hope to work out as a middle six player at best.

Dude I’m a die hard kings fan . Since 1976 basically haven’t missed a game , I can tell you PLD was the laziest completely vertical in stance player I’ve ever seen , people that don’t watch ever minute could say well he had 20 goals 40 somin points , not terrible by any means . I can tell you they were gifts from line mates . There was one game after the all star break where he scored two goals and made it happen ! Then …..nothing……,he is the primadona of hockey . We are so much better just minus PLD

So glad PLD is gone. Kings have looked really good in preseason and Kuemper has been solid in net so far. (Let's see what happens tomorrow when it all starts for real though)

The loss of Iafallo was big as well as Vilardi. Good riddence PLD. Still a die hard Kings fan, time for Blake to be replaced and for the team to find a true #1 goalie.

Kings are going to change a few things systematically. The change will be more focused on opening up the offense. I love the 1-3-1 when it is used situationally. The Kings barely used it against Edmonton. They used the 1-2-2 more. Although i think Edmonton is the 1 team that can break the 1-3-1 using a new system in the playoffs isn't where you wanna make sudden changes. You do that during the regular season to fine tune it.

Thankfully Montreal did not trade for him. He just doesn’t seem to have the level of effort that is needed. If he really wanted to play in Montreal then he could have waited but he went for the 8 years in LA and was near to a disaster in LA. At his level of pay he was a disaster.

Your comment in the video saying that he was supposed to eventually be a 1C, or at least a 2C indicates that while you know a lot about hockey and put great effort into your vids for which I commend you, there is no way on earth that PLD was gonna be a 1C. He could be a 2C on a team that has very little depth at forward.

That’s the most frustrating thing , I think the kings coulda beat anyone the last three years except Edmonton. If you’re a kings fan I mean .kings also spanked the panthers every game last few years . Kings cryptonite recently has just been Edmonton and Dallas , and the sabres , they never beet the sabres

PLD was sold to the L.A. King as the next 1rst line Center after Anze Kopitar retired. Not only Dubois did not replace Kopitar as the first line Center but did not out perform Philippe Danault as a second Line Center. Did even play 3rd line Center end up as 3rd Line left Winger. When you a 3rd Left Winger 8,5 M$ / year it was a total disaster. Danault was a fourth line center in Chicago till he was 26 years old before been trade to Montréal where he become the guy we all know on the first line over there with it's a surprise Cup Runs in 2021. Danault like other NHLers decide to cash out in L.A. Can't blame him. NHL career are short but honestly Danault should kept his mouth shut because who knows in two / three years can also end up being kick out of L.A.

To me the perfect analogy for Dubois is he is the girl who constantly cheats and the new boyfriend in this case the Capitals thinks he won't cheat on me I'm different. I studied him this year and man is this guy talented but his effort level is a 2 on a scale of 10 and the even more frustrating thing is 1 out of maybe 5-6 games he'll give you that one game where he shows you how good he could be. I personally didn't mind the trade as the Kings were not going to beat Edmonton with Villardi,Iafallo and Kupari. Watch the home game vs Kraken to see his best game as a King in which he assisted on all 3 of Trevor Moore's goals and in general was all over the place playing a complete game. I remember being at the game with an NHL scout and I said to him "this is the guy we traded for."

He has been a great source of revenue for podcasters. He's the giantest bleep of a clown the NHL has ever seen. A complete joke. So much potential, but no heart or courage. He used MTL as leverage to try and get more. If he really wanted to go to Montreal he could have just played it out and then went there.
