I remember seeing this & turning to my friend saying 'why isn't he saying he's bisexual?' 'If he's saying he's gay what dose that say to his wife & children'. 'That the wife wasted years with a man who never truly loved/ wanted her? What does that say about his daughters that they should never have existed?'. Principally it’s about character you’re absolutely spot on. He is clearly bisexual; you cannot spend that amount of time with someone and have 2 children if there is no form of love. Having watched the entire thing IMO he’s trying to play a clever game. He sensed people are on to him and thought he would use the LGBTQ+ card as well as mental health and that side of things. When Holly says "you've been very open & honest with Steph all through this" & Phillip replies "yeah I have no secrets we've never had any secrets" knowing all along he had an affair with a boy young enough to be his son actually Matthew is younger than both Phillip's daughters. At the time when I watched this I thought wow what a strong woman Steph is to still remain friends with him but now knowing the other stuff that has come out I think Steph has been manipulated by Phillip he admitted to Steph he was confused about his sexuality but funny how he left out the bit that he was having a relationship with a boy behind her back because he knew she wouldn't have accepted that. You can't control your sexuality but you can control whether to cheat or not or to lie or not, Phillip knew just the right amount to admit to so he can still come out of it looking good or like the poor victim that has been struggling. The problem is not the sexuality, it's what you do with it. Secret affairs -- that's adultery -- are not healthy. Living a double life of lies is never healthy. Again I came out when I was 19 (am 40 now) and really struggled but I knew even then I didn’t want to live a lie or end up hurting anyone else. I feel proud of my 19 year old self showing more responsibility and self awareness than this guy seems to have shown in his whole adult life!

Me too, I came as gay, but now I concier myselft rather a trans woman, or not binary woman. Anyway a lot of people especially in christain background were too afraid to make a coming out. We were lucky, they were not.
