@@AdiSh7 The wheel itself is like a button. If you push down on the wheel it clicks and changes between freewheeling and ratched mode. Also you can push the wheel left and right which I never do. But you can assign something to that. I was going to buy the Anywhere 3 because the wheel on my Anywhere 2 stopped working. I cleaned it with some rubbing alcohol and it started working again.

I see, I am quite used to middile button push actually closing the tabs and opening links in background tabs. Seems like a deal breaker for my usage habit. Thanks for replying 👍

I'm sticking with my MX 2 which I love. I'm not sold on the new way of doing side scrolling, the wheel left and right feels more like a natural move than hitting side button + vertical scroll.

Lol i'm also still using my MX Anywhere2, it's still going strong with a month usage each time since I had it in 20** can't remember anymore but it's a few years ago since I bought it tho, and the battery life is way better than any other mouse :D

I have used both and i still prefer the anywhere 2s. Anywhere 3 scroll there's no enough friction even hyper scroll wheel is turned off. Even the gripping pattern, I like the pattern on 2s. Great review, keep it up!

@Fik On Anywhere 3, the middle button on top of the mouse will change mode of the scroll wheel. You can still use the 2 buttons on the side, and if you will use horizontal scroll you just hold any of the side buttons and use scroll wheel to side scroll. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the review. I compared my old MX 2 with the new one and I prefer the old one. There are some minor improvement such as lighter weight and USB-C but these won't justify the higher selling price.

you are right, btw, that was what cost me the original Anywhere MX, the one with replaceable batteries. freaking 70 usd with its perfect included leather pouch like in 2013 or prior I'm using it right now, it is really a good rodent, but it is asking for a retirement. I told to myself not to spend that much again, so the 2s seems an improvement and being cheaper than the og, but won't be the latest, although I really like the Horizontal scroll.

v2 does have a middle click. It's not on the scroll wheel but the button behind it.

I wish they'd put the buttons on both sides for us left-handers. Mouse manufacturers rarely make any concessions for us other than making the mouse symmetrical and even then, they still only put buttons on one side.

You should try GXT 177 Trust mouse then. The material has a nice grip and has buttons on both sides, so perfect for left handed ppl as well 😊 however only for average to large hands, it wont work well for small hands. Gl ^_^

You didn't cover it, but the most important difference to me is the time each mouse goes between charges. The Mx Anywhere 2 = 40 days. The Mx Anywhere 3 = 70 days. I bought the Mx2 yesterday, not knowing that an Mx3 existed, until seeing nothing but Mx3 listed on Logitech's website. No wonder the Mx2 was part of a "bundle" with the laptop I bought yesterday. I'm swapping this Mx2 for an Mx3 tomorrow.

Does this white anywhere 3 version, get dirty over time? Finger marks where you normally place your fingertips? Between the gray and white color options, I like the white one the most, but am worried that it will get some kind of color fading or yellowing over time.

Hate the mx anywhere 3. I returned it kept rocking on its curved back and lifting the sensor when I tried to grip it tighter (as in more palm filling grip). Why did they curve the rear, if it was a sharper drop, the extra support would have made a world of difference.

yes, especially the new version, because it is light, and has good sensors, however if you are into serious gaming, get a specific gaming mouse

I was about to upgrade my 2S to the 3 until i found out it doesn't have the ability to tilt the scroll wheel. A function i often use. I prefer nudging the mouse wheel left or right instead of doing finger gymnastics just to scroll left or right.

This review fails to adress a very important aspect: The size. The Anywhere 3 is by a sizable amount smaller than the Anywhere 2. A difference you feel and feels less ergonomic as a result. Yes the reviewer mentioned it's more rounded, but failed to mention that you lose quite a bit and while the Anywhere 2 feels just right in my hand, I could never get used to the Anywhere 3 and gave it back as a result. To compare: Anywhere 2: 4.0 x 2.6 x 1.4" / 100.5 x 65.0 x 34.4 mm Anywhere 3: 4.0 x 2.4 x 1.4" / 101.6 x 61.0 x 35.6 mm The build quality is slightly better, but I do prefer the older grip pattern and the only thing the Anywhere 3 *really* has going for it is the USB-C. If you opt for the Anywhere 2S you get the same battery life, you get that extra button and an overall pleasant experience with no adjustment period. All you really lose is the USB-C. I can just grab the Anywhere 2 anywhere and work with it. I tried with the Anywhere 3 for several days but the changed dimensions just don't work for me. Especially for people with bigger hands this is a deal breaker.

The MX 3 Series are not worth their price. When you scroll on a page a little bit faster you can notice it stucks and don´t recgonize your input. This is a problem with all MX 3 series Mouse.

For me it was a huge stepback… I felt cheated when i bought the mouse. Did not expected a funtionality downgrade… don’t care about the magnetic scroll wheel, i was happier with the previous, because of the horizontal scroll. The mx3 horizontal scroll is just a workarround…

Like many before me, I'm a big fan of the MX 2. I prefer the left and right flick on the scroll wheel, which I have as back and forward. Not a huge scroll fan so the MX 2 ticks the boxes for me . If it ain't broke, why fix it !!
