You can hammer a chisel into that space to separate the metal to take the control arm off of the ball joint and back on and wont need bang on it with the hammer.

I'm glad I found this video. Didn't realize how easy of a job it is to replace. We took our '08 TB in for a tire check and they told us our upper control arm bushings were worn and you have to replace the entire control arm on these! Thank You!

I would not tighten those bolts all the way down until the car is on the ground with the tire on. When you drop that and it's tight you can really wear them out prematurely. (Pre load it before Tourqing it down)

Yeah I have to remove the driver's side and the bolts are very very tight, I'm thinking I have to jack it up, put a jack stand under the frame and let the wheel drop to take pressure off the control arm.

Do you have to put a load on it before tighten the two bolts.

Yes you do same for the lower arm. The upper arms are the easiest. Use a piece of pipe about 2 1/2 ft long for leverage with the full weight of the vehicle on the ground the bolts are still easy to get to just limited pull on the wrench b/c of the tires but doable.👍 The torque spec is @ 117 ft lbs.

I had a harter time getting those 21mil bolts in because of not enough room.

should of did the the drivers side considering it’s a lot harder than the passenger

I’ve done both and not sure what you mean, they are pretty much the same. What issue(s) did you encounter on the driver’s side?

@@therealjackieheezy same placement as the passenger. Easiest way it to use a wrench until you hit the sides then they should be loose enough to manually unscrew them behind the wheel well walls. Putting them back in should be the same in reverse. Hope this helps

@@PhillipsVision well not with my trailblazer it most definitely was not same as the passenger the two drivers bolts require a lot more bullshit to remove them yes the are placed the same way as the passenger but they just don’t slid out all easy like that it’s a known issue (there are a few uca replacement vids on here that talk about it) idk i guess you got lucky trailblazer
