Good luck making that at home 💀 You would need to buy a rib roast, then a deli slicer, then a brick oven and learn to become a master baker just to make the roll. If you just want to buy some steak-umz and have a ghetto cheese steak, sure. But this place didn't earn it's #1 rank in America (in many publications) by being so easy any home chef could make it up. If you want convenience, hit Mickey D's, but the best food should require us to wait and be savored.

I was just there on Sunday (was in Philly for the weekend from north NJ as well). Line was crazy and the wait for the cheesesteak was an hour. One of the girls behind the counter actually told us to set a timer and just come back (they keep your sandwich in a warmer when it is done). I also got cooper sharp with fried onions and it was amazing! Pro tip: if you walk down the block towards what I guess may be part of Little Italy, there are some places with open air seating where you can eat. You will definitely need to sit.
