For anyone reading the replys. This only works if the shiny was predetermined to be an alpha. And since only 1 alpha is allowed to spawn 1 at a time it's best to catch/kill the alpha first.

So. You go to a mass outbreak zone, roll the count by resetting till you hit a shiny spawn. But if theres an alpha in the batch catch or solo battle it first. To give the best chance of the shiny spawn a chance to be alpha.. This only applies if there is an alpha spawn prior to the shiny spawn cause its programmed to be a regular spawn. GOT IT I'll keep that in mind next hunt.

Is all luck based, some basic Pokemon have a guaranteed alpha form, a shiny charm and farm that area that they spawn in its way easier than hoping for alpha and that's it's shiny. I know there is an alpha sneasel close to the ice peak arena that's always an alpha sneasel perfect Dex entry and shiny charm will give you a way better odds than hopefully finding one that's an alpha and a shiny in a mass outbreak. Granite you do have good odds with the outbreak but the consistency of always having that alpha sneasel right there guarantees you will eventually get that alpha shiny sneasel.

Doubt you guys have missed many shiny alphas because of this. Very sure the odds of encountering 2 alpha mons and a shiny all in the same outbreak are close to 1 in a million. This guy got luck and Philly is making content on his luck lol

I’ve had so many random pokemon spawn with 2 alphas, literally just walking around I seen 2 alpha Psyduck right next to each other, it can definitely happen in an outbreak and is probably more common than finding a shiny.

I've just instinctively been doing this the entire time and I still don't have a shiny alpha so I'm just getting terrible RNG. I always just catch the alpha first because OOOOOOH Big Pokemon but haven't gotten lucky with an alpha shiny but good to know I haven't missed one.

Its not terrible rng its just regular rng. He didnt break big ground here. Theres literally no “trick” to it his solution is essentially “get super lucky and make sure you catch the 2% chance alphas because youll surely hit it again when you also hit the shiny. “

@@atomic_hok its two seperate instances of low%. Spawning an alpha is like .5-2% depending in the mon, and shiny is AT BEST 1/127 which is roughly .8% so. Get really lucky twice is the “trick”. What he did show is that if you do get a shiny and an alpha in the same outbreak you might be able to rig it to spawn on the same one.

This method will only work if the alpha spawns close or with the shiny, also this will only work if let’s just say that the alpha spawns with the first 3 Pokémon and another alpha spawns in with the shiny. It’s very time consuming, but worth it I guess.

It’s kinda hard to get shiny alpha because in mass outbreak abt 10% chance alpha will be spawned and if it’s not shiny but if leave alpha alone it’s possible shiny non-alpha will pop up long as non-shiny alpha remaining in mass that’s my option

I wonder if you can use this to manipulate an alpha shiny that wasn’t supposed to be there. Let’s say you have an alpha as spawn 3, an alpha as spawn 6, and a shiny as spawn 8. If you DON’T catch alpha spawn 3 until your 7th catch, will it push back the alpha from spawn 6 into spawn 8, causing the shiny to be an alpha?

The alpha has to be predetermined and their can only be 1 alpha on the field. Not really manipulation

@@PhillyBeatzU you would be manipulating it by delaying the spawn of the alpha, Making something an alpha that wasn’t supposed to be one. Since the shiny has a set spawn, and the alpha does not because it can be delayed, you can push the alpha slot onto the shiny slot with an overlap.

So if I find a shiny and let’s say it’s the 9th slot and there was no alpha in the last 8 slots should I reset the game to see if I can get an alpha in one of the 8 slots to then catch/kill the alpha so that the shiny in the 9th has a chance to be alpha? Am I dumb? The only conclusion to draw from this is to always prioritize catching alphas during mass outbreaks, right? The guy doing the Zorua demonstration just had the shiny alpha Zorua on the field to demonstrate that it being alpha prevented the other from being alpha--the first Zorua being shiny was irrelevant. In other words, this is not a method for hunting for shiny alphas, correct? I'm trying to get an insanely hard alpha shiny and I need all the help and confirmation I can get lol

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I got up to this outbreak that spawns an alpha right before a shiny is scripted to spawn. I catch the alpha before the shiny is scripted to spawn and the shiny just keeps coming out as regular. I reset the game 8 times already and the same result happens. I even KO'd 4 random alphas in the map before I began the outbreak in my latest reset. I don't know what to do.

It only works if the shiny was predetermined to be a shiny alpha sadly. So catching the alpha first made it so that mon could come out as a shiny alpha and not forced to be regular sized.

If you have an alpha in the first four and you get rid of it first but the shiny comes at the third one then you can reset and make sure to get rid of the alpha as the third therefore the shiny Will be an alpha. I still tried it but caught the shiny first and then killed the alpha so that would make the second mon to appear be the replacement of the alpha. In the whole outbreak was no more shiny and no more alphas.

No unfortunately not because all the Pokémon in the outbreak are already determined (if you catch/KO them 1 at a time) so for example if that shiny pops up on say the 7th spawn it will always be what it was meant to be and the only way to change the spawn will be going back to jubilife to reset the spawn

Yes they are the same, but because you can't manipulate the size of a Pokemon. Alpha's get the new symbol and are considered different than a regular shiny.
