So doesn't this mean it's impossible to do a good thing in the moment before you are sure what the outcome will be? Is there not something to say for operating with the best knowledge you have at the time? Even if you end up being incorrect about your prediction, and now all of a sudden you're unethical?

Hi ChuffTV2, we can't substantially engage with your questions as we are only objectively presenting the key concepts of pragmatic ethics. Thanks though for your comments!

a good example of someone teaching on reason, but ignoring reason, i.e. intellectual corruption leading to ethical corruption. It didn't ask whether the disabled individual might want to be dead and so not pragmatic from his/her perspective. Existence precedes essence!!!

Well, sure. Two people may disagree about what is pragmatically best, and sometimes we can't say for sure what is 'best'. Pragmatism is an approach, a methodology, a toolkit, but it doesn't produce answers to difficult questions. One might also argue that aborting fetuses is harmful to society as a whole, even if it seems pragmatically "good" for the people directly involved. Such questions are not simple.

@@jrd33 if by difficult problems you mean unproductive ones, you are right, as the philosophy has no interest in engaging with them in the first place
