I don't see how "power flows from the state" leads to "the state should resegregate the government". Was it just that Wilson just happened to be a racist and decided he could do what he wanted because he was in charge of the state, or was there some connection, at least in the minds of the people in power at the time?

I think you're are hitting a straw man here with this constant comparison of progressivism with the "state". I think you're doing the maximum you can to make progressivism to look like communism. Sorry but you're lecture is clearly biased towards what conservatives think about this subject. As you being a philosopher I thought you would have a more balanced and fare view of the subject.
