Yeah, I imagine him as a grumpy old man. Many descriptions are also very specific, and you get the impression everyone knew who he was talking about.

I can just imagine that one day they laughed at him, and he was like, "Oh yeah, go ahead and laugh for a day and take your pleasure. But I'll see to it that people ridicule all of you for centuries to come!"
