Apparently mind reading is synonymous with observational deductive reasoning.

Interesting & informative video. I've been puzzled with theory of other minds, qualia & explanatory gap for some time now. Looking forward to it to understand better.

Isn't this the answer to the problem of other minds? We can only know if others are experiencing things when we have a shared experience. Where we can confirm that others experience is similar to our own when we have shared thoughts and feelings about the experience.

Oh, so you _can_ make educated guesses about what a living thing is thinking and feeling by observing its behavior‽ 😲 Then why do so many humans keep arguing that you can't know what an animal is thinking or feeling just because it can't talk? Babies don't talk either, so I guess we can't assume they think or feel anything, right? ¬_¬ You'd think scientists would accept that observation can give an indication that animals do think and feel. 🤦

Arguments against anthropomorphism in ethology are much more substantive than simply noting that animals “can’t talk”.

You've answered your own question. We can make educated guesses about what an animal is thinking or feeling, but we can't know.
