Lesson of human history More power is centralized the quicker that power will become corrupt. Too often that power was already corrupt

It’s not necessarily that power corrupts but that malicious people trade on the population’s good will to entrust them with power.

This is also true. But I also believe those narcisists and psychopaths seeking power do so by controlling the masses. The bigger the mass, the more power they gain

Fantastic summary of what I've discovered about the EU after investigating why the Brits wanted to leave. At first I thought they were crazy, not anymore.

The goal seem to be to grab power and resources, and the strategy appears to be to exploit _social capital_ (societal trust) by first building up well-working institution and then, once people have stared to fully trust the institutions and agreed to hand over to them all the power and resources, to pull the rug underneath the feet by ignoring goodwill and instead turning the institutions against the very population it was proclaimed to have been set up to serve.

The 6 most disturbing aspects of the EU according to Frank Furedi: 1) The EU has depolarised public life, while increasing the legalization of public life by various non-elected institutions & technocracies 2) The EU has denationalised public life, and tends to demonise nationalism 3) The EU sees popular or individual sovereignty as bad; when it is inextricably linked to national sovereignty 4) The EU has eroded of the meaning of citizenship 5) The EU promotes a notion that there are no alternatives to the current economic structure 6) Many feel patronised by the EU

(regarding nationalism) You are allowed to feel good about other things, sports are something they encourage. So why tribalism for sports but not for your own country? What's the difference.

Good example. So, after Brexit is done, when can I expect the national football team of the now sovereign and independent nation of Britannia to win the world cup … oh wait … your "nation" doesn't have one … how strange …

Excellent points. So much of this applies to India too: The left calls everyone else intolerant; nationalism is equated to Nazi, any sense of pride is considered xenophobic or racist. Its so true about the rule of the technocrats - the previous leftist government was run by an unelexted 'National Advisory Council' comprised of the leftist activists that usurped power and emasculated democratic institutions such as the prime minister and cabinet and made for great employment for otherwise unemployable leftist activists, cronies and propagandists. The point about contempt for the people exerting their choices/liberty is so true too: I recall one conversation in SF when a colleague, upset with Hillary loss asked, rather innocently in a company wide meeting"How can we as a company help empower the middle America voters with better information?" Implying that they voted 'wrong' because they had wrong information, else how could they have voted for Trump? the whole Russia hoax was built on this assumption. So if we give them better information, they'd think like us and make the right choice. Even in Brexit vote, the left/EU/remainers love to quote only the misleading bus ad about NHS as the reason why Brexit vote won. If you don't vote left you're misinformed. I recall in Democracy Now, after Indian elections in 2019, the left intellectuals were upset the masses didn't agree with them and threw phrases like 'fascism won' 'death of democracy'. Islamists of course ride on their coat tails and speak the Social justice jargon of victimhood and oppression. In the US, the chruches/christianity is attacked by the left but in india, interestingly they are the allies of the left and Hindus are the common enemy of Left, Church lobbies and Islamists..

I guess the crux is that an expert has a very narrow understanding, and to allow experts to rule would result in many important things being overlooked. Also that they should know what is best for every individual is absurd.

Remember that horrifying story of the Washington cyclists and their attempted trip through Tajikistan? That's why a sense of national pride is important, there are aspects of Western civilisation that should be cherished and seen as better than some other cultures. If you disagree with this maybe head off on a world cycling tour spreading love where you go...

I have come to see the EU as creeping communism. Here we have corrupt politicians who have sold parts of the west coast to communist China. How is that legal? Its creeping communism from both ends. The UN is a huge problem as well.

Western Europe decided in 2005 to compete with the USD by becoming a union of 300 million people with one currency. So you appointed non-elected officials to tell your nation's leaders what do do... problem. There's also the issue with Greece. At the end of the day, it wasn't a good idea but apart from that, you can't beat the USD.

False. The same people who own the FED and therefore the US also own the EU. The Bank of England is owned by the Rothschild's since 300 years. Mayer Amschel Rothschild stole the treasury of Wilhelm IX Prince of Hesse-Kassel and bought with it the Bank of England.

@Doctor Detroit If that were the case, then why is Germany putting on itself the same hardships which will ultimately lead to its destruction? It wouldn't make sense. It would make sense, however, if Germany were governed by the same kind of globalist traitors, serving either the same masters or those with similar interests.
