Thank you for this podcast. I have been unemployed for some time now. I just got approved to go back to school to become a Medical Office Administrator. I've never been good at school and those discouraging thoughts of "I can't do this" have crept in. However, I am going to remember that God brought me here for a reason. If I had the time, I'd tell you what has happened over the last few months that are nothing short of miracles. Pray for me, I can do this because it is Christ who strengthens me.

@ARE YOU FEELING LUCKY PUNK As a believer , I believe God uses circumstances to bring people to him. Who are we to judge,when we ourselves were once without Jesus. Only God knows the heart.
@mogusmonroe94314 жыл бұрын
@ARE YOU FEELING LUCKY PUNK They are real, not fake. Prosperity drives most people to forget. I attended a church in the middle of a prosperous community. When my mother visited, she told me how can a church grow when they are surrounded by the rich. They were actually middle class, but in world terms that community was rich. That church building has now bulldozed for more houses. My mother grew up when there was no waste. People in the US are rich, but compare themselves to millionaires. If you are middle class in America, you are rich in world standards.

i remember pulling in our haul seines and gill nets as a child and watching my grandfather sell fish from the back of his Rambler. He had no complaints into his 80s and told us "idle hands are the devils workshop" Supported 8 kids and supported the Church giving what he could, when they had no money they worked at the Church doing carpentry. He always ensured that when ever someone was down on their luck he made sure they always had all the fish dinners. Jase that was here on DEL MARVA

I work at a car rental company and most of my job revolves around washing and cleaning vehicles. While I drive for quality in our vehicles, two of my co-workers have been frustrating me by "cleaning" vehicles. All of my co-workers listen to music that I never like, blaring it loud oftentimes. Once the new hire even yelled at me not to turn it down. It's absolutely demotivating! But you're right. If I just focus on God, and do my own job well, there's joy in working in a harsh environment! Thanks, Duck Dynasty! This podcast on work was exactly what I needed to hear!

Whenever it got to a point where I started becoming upset and unfulfilled at my job or trade, I found that it was time to change to doing something else or going somewhere else. I've walked away from 100k a year jobs and went to minimum wage for a few months inbetween the next big career move, and learned a new skill or suprised myself in what I was actually capable of doing. In a 5 year period, I went from servicing garage doors to delivering pizzas, back to garage doors, then to a cashier at a grocery store, back to garage doors, and finally to cleaning pools before I had to return home and take of my mother. The amount of knowledge I have now in other things other than my main trade is amazing. I also felt a lot better inside those "lesser" jobs. I basically learned that I can do anything and there would never be an excuse for me not to have a job ever.

Young man I've worked a full time job since I was 19 and I'm 45 now, on top of that I've worked at my current job for going on 24 yrs and I've been a believer for about 22, i mentioned being a believer because i work for a wine distributor. When I came to Christ i thought "i can't work for a wine distributor I'm a Christian" (i don't drink myself) so i started looking for others jobs but I couldn't get anything and then one day my wife said "hey maybe God is going to use you there", i didn't think about it like that but praise God for a wise and Godly wife because God has used me to bring people to Jesus, to minister hope and to pray for the sick 👍. Stay the course young man and keep your eyes on Jesus and almost any job will be good ground.

Maybe the pandemic is like the violent storm that came upon Jonah (Jonah 1) when he was running from the Lord when he was instructed to go to Nineveh and Jonah headed the opposite way to Tarshish. The storm wasn't intended to hurt Jonah but rather to get him back on track. Maybe the pandemic is God's way of telling everyone to wake up, that this world s getting too far off course and needs to be reeled back in to God's way. I love these podcasts! I stumbled across Phil one day while watching one of my favorite local pastors here in Texas (Robert Morris) and now I'm hooked. I can't believe I haven't come across you all before this! Now I have added you to favorites along with Robert Morris and Joel Osteen.

It's so funny, I never knew the first Timothy verse and that's my name, not to be egotistical, it just fit so perfectly to how I have been viewing things for the past three years. I've learned from men that I've worked for rather than a father and basically wasted my late teens and twenties due to pain pills addiction before I knew or understood addiction or even never recognized it in others. I'm not a victim though, those things helped me to realize the bigger picture and start to really have self awareness, empathy and desire to help others not feel like I have. Almost five years ago I got rid of a bad girlfriend that wasn't maturing and growing but keeping everything too scattered and in survival mode too much to get self aware. Since then I took a year and barely worked enough to get by while I gave myself one big pleasure that put me in nature so I could think my life through alot, I got two small dirtbikes so I could take a friend and go riding as I did when I was a kid a few times (my fondest memories along with camping and playing sports with my mom. My mom had a crazy life and did what she could so I'm working towards helping her more and more each year until I can take care of both of us and still grow. Now in year three of putting my life in a great direction I'm working 70-90 hours some weeks or most to get to a better position sooner so I can take care of us and help influence others and help work on our town and local communities. I've had around 12 years of carpentry but moved into lawncare and landscaping in the spring summer and fall plus do firewood all year on the rainy days I can't find anything else to do so I can get rid of firewood all winter cheaply to fill in the deadzone. I'm really excited about our future, LOVE THY NEIGHBOR!!!

You are 1000% correct, good stuff and absolutely crazy stuff originates here. However don't confuse all of us with the folks in LA and SF...I'm out here in rural California and I have a lot in common with you guys. I run a fishing magazine and a fishing youtube channel. This week I've eaten trout I caught and had squirrel for dinner one night. Since we are shut down out here, I spend a lot of time turkey hunting and have scored a pair of gobblers so far. I often hear about work solutions. Al says you can have joy in any circumstance. Others call it passion and say : "find something you're passionate about". But, I think more like Al (referring to the bible) and I say : BE PASSIONATE !! BRING YOUR PASSION TO WHAT EVER IT IS YOU ARE DOING. Eventually you will find something you like and it will be even better :) The other thing I'd like to share is what an old man told me when I was young : TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU ONLY HAVE TO WORK A 1/2 DAY !! Well, immediately I thought, most people work 8 hrs. ........ how could it be you could get by w/ only 4 hrs of work ? But then, he followed it up w/ : "EITHER THE 1st 12 OR THE 2nd 12 hrs. ....... Immediately I realized he was telling me 2 things : a). if you want to be successful you have to work much longer (harder) than most people. b). stupidity allows you to manipulate your mind into thinking, working longer (harder) than others is only 1/2 a day and still be happy about it. Well, I'm just stupid enough to be able to manipulate myself into feeling grateful and pleased that I only had to work a 1/2 day :) I figured out (by myself) that I didn't have to be the best there ever was but I only had to be better than the guy next to me. I figured he'd get fired before me :) I love competition !! I watch every one of Phil's shows and would like to thank all of you for sharing your life and thoughts. I'd also really like to talk to Phil or one of you about Baptism. If willing message me on FB for my info under same channel name :) Thanks again, Sincerely ............................... James 1-12 “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” We all need to find that one temptation that we’re so vulnerable to and defeat it
