When Phyllis shared that I instantly thought about all of the times that Phil and Kay had been praying for their children and as they prayed those prayers they were actually covering her as well! @Matt what? He had no idea she even existed. He is not a "religious" man, he is a believer in Christ, born again. We all have a past, we all fall short, and we all need our Lrod and savior. It is because we are all sinners that we need God. Phil has always been very open about his sinful past, how he was a jerk, horrible husband, and father when he was lost. But he came to Christ and completely changed his life. God has forgiven him, K has forgiven him, and so have his children. He hides nothing. No better testimony then a man so far down in sin, yet God loves each and every one of us, and is there to scoop us up and was us clean from our past if we just Come to Christ and give our hearts to him and ask for forgiveness. I am sure he would have opened his heart and home years ago had he known of her.

I love this. This family is full of God and a reflection of God’s forgiveness. My favorite is Phil calling her "little girl" even though he now knows her age that is his little girl and will always be that. It made me tear up because my daddy has been home with Jesus since 2011. I was always a daddy's girl and it brought back wonderful memories of my dad and me. I will always be my dad's little girl. Phyllis I am so thankful God brought you to your dad. Spend as much time with him as you can. That way you will have no regrets. That is what I did with my dad and I am thankful I have no regrets. God bless you all!

In 2018 I found out I have an older brother my parents gave up for adoption, they weren't married and Dad had no job. When we met for the first time it was like reconnecting with a relative I hadn't seen in a while. There was no awkwardness. Our parents married 9 months after he was born and had 6 mote children together. My brother slways knew he was adopted but was a bit shocked to find out he had 6 full-blooded siblings. It's been a joy getting to know him and his family. Mom passed in 2012 but Dad got to meet him in early 2019. I feel like Mom was up in Heaven orchestrating this so Dad could finally meet his oldest son before he passed. We lost Dad in August 2019.

It happened to me in 1989 and I put myself in my stepdaughters shoes and thought only how she was unable to know her dad, my husband and our son and daughter for the first 18 years of her life. It wasn’t about me at all! My son who was 16 had a hard time with it, my daughter who was 12 was excited about having a big sister. We adjusted and I stayed with my husband and in February we celebrated our 48th anniversary.

This so deeply touched my heart. For the last 6 years and 5 months I’ve been in the position Ms Kay was in and it’s hard but as she said she knew she was supposed to fight for her marriage and I know that no matter the circumstances that I am to fight. It’s not a fight with flesh and blood but with the principalities of the air. I know God can do anything and my hope is in him and I wait for my miracle. One thing I’ve struggled with is how this is hurting our son but it gives me hope to see how God has had his hand on you kids and how he is using you for his glory. Your testimony has encouraged me with tears this morning and I’m so thankful you have shared. I would love to somehow be able to send a personal e-mail to talk to Kay or one of you boys more about it because this is a hard circumstance and I could use all the advice you have

I'm glad your siblings accepted you. Sounds like your 'dad,' hasn't grown-up still. I have a son from an extra martial affair. He's still young, I try to explain things to him, but he doesn't fully comprehend yet. My husband stayed with me, and he decided that he wanted to raise our son. It's difficult to face my own sin, but I am very thankful for my son. I pray that my son will always know how very much loved and wanted he is, even if his biological dad wasn't in a place where he could take responsibility. I also pray that my son understands that his real dad is the man that chose to love and care for him, even if they do not share the biological component. My biggest fear is hurting my son, but that may be another consequence of my own sin?

@Matt To all things there is a season, and the Lord's time is not your time. Bad family values? Without the Lord and His Infinite Grace, there would be no family, at all. You see but one small chapter in a novel about Phil and Phyllis, while the Lord has written every word in every library. He did this for a purpose, and if it's not for us to understand at this time, okay. Only in hindsight, when the story is completed to the very end, would anyone be able to see the Lord's hand in it, and moving towards a purpose we don't know, today.
