My dad died peacefully in his room on Oct 26 2024 due to cardiac arrest. Though my father died, I know that a Saviour was born for us to live, to die and rose again so I can see him again. Literally listening this in tears, sobbing like a baby, far away from home, my mom, dad, sister, dog and friends, missing the Advent vibe with my family being in another city in my dorm room, missing the Christmas joy with my people, missing my Church, the carol practises we had back in those days, singing dancing on Carols, decorating my house, getting the cake ready, getting all cosed up in my bed listening to my mom sing, me and my sister sneaking out in the middle of the night, knowing fully well that i won't be home this Christmas still hoping that if there’s a way i can make it back home for this Christmas let that be.😭😭

I understand you ❤ I lived in NYC for 2 years and every holiday was brutal as Michigan was home for me. I don’t think I can describe the ache in my heart that I’d feel for home - for every comfort and every little detail and every person. You don’t realize how blessed you are until you’re away from it all. It’s just a season - there are so many years ahead with your family! I can say that on the other side. But I’ll say a prayer that you’re able to make it home this year! 🙏🏼
