You did an amazing job bro what matters is that you learn from that . Mistakes are not bad it only makes you better .

That's the worst, when you spend so much time on a project and it doesn't turn out the way you wanted it. At least you learned from it.

What you are trying to do isn’t easy! I give you a lot of credit for getting in there and going for it. That is how you learn! I’m doing a truck project with my son and we have no idea what we are doing but we are learning together! Keep at it! I’m subscribed now to you and can’t wait to watch you progress! You are doing great young man!

Honestly i feel you, I used to repair and make custom bumpers and the first week i was so frustrated i felt like quiting because every order was sent back to me, all the Brackets, weld and bondo had to be 100% Perfect, but i promise i also made mistakes but i got better and so will you

Thank you so much. It's definitely super frustrating, but I took a week off without even touching the car, so now I'm ready to go back and give it another shot.

You’ll have it ready by summer. You’ve just got to keep pushing. I get your mad at the car, yourself, things not going right but that’s the beauty in making something yourself. If you want an exact replica, buy the part. But since you’ve come this far I say keep going. Add your own element to make it different while looking how you want. If you let this stop you it’s going to be so much harder to start again. Don’t let it get you down. Keep moving and trying new things. You’ve got this! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

How did you join that old bumper with your new design
@Doahs770studios2 жыл бұрын
next time when you start filling the pin holes and seam streakes etc.. switch to a light compound body filler and do away with the glazen puddy,, it will make a big differance in the overall time in re filling because what was happening is that red puddy pops out once the sander heated it up and shrank it ,, then try a heavy fill type primer,, good luck and great job i like the look ,,

And that is what you call gaining experience, I do auto body for a living. In my opinion you need to bolt it completely to the car, make sure it is level cut it apart use a cardboard template on the side you like and use it as a Guage for the other side then there is no way it can be different

Hard to know where to start but I don't think you realized the scope of the work you were undertaking. Probably good experience of what not to do next time. No1 is that you cant join fiberglass directly to a plastic bumper. It is a huge amount of work to do this correctly so just take it as a learning experience and move on.
