I'm glad that you show that is discipline above motivation. Today the quote of my workout was: feel the fear and pain but do it anyways. Seriously I never regret a workout and even if my pace is not the one in my goals yet, that's why we have to keep going and as you said, we love the grind

Very true what you say about mindset Phily. I've taken to the mantra 'It's only pain' while out running. It still hurts, but at least I don't feel like giving up
@rmjames832 жыл бұрын
And I remind myself that pain is only temporary too-but a great session, a survived session (that u got thru & didn’t bail on) or a magical run/race lasts in the mind forever!!

I don't know if you guys have AC or not, but I hope you're doing okay with the heat you're getting. I live in Canada and we routinely get temperature swings like this, but we also have AC and we're "used to" it - it's still shocking when it happens though. Hi Philly, thanks for the films! It’s really inspiring and entertaining watching your adventures. I’ve had a few opportunities to race on the track this year which I love as a change up from road. I haven’t bought spikes yet as I’ve heard a lot about inexperienced runners getting injured when they use spikes. Do you have any advice on how you can safely transition to spikes? I’m prone to shin splints which is making me even more cautious. Also see that there aren’t many track legal alternatives to spikes, even the Nike Streakfly are too high stacked. What to do!
@PhilyBowden2 жыл бұрын
The new “super spikes” that are more conditioned are definitely easier on the legs! I’d just say try a few and see which your feet prefer. I believe if you buy Nike spikes direct you can send them back even after using them!

I don’t really have a philosophy, just a healthy relationship with food - which definitely hasn’t always been the case! Thinking about it as fuel, and yourself as “the machine” makes you quickly realise that putting less in, means less energy out!

Even americans are now using Kilometers and metric system for running, and you keep on talking about mile repeats? UK uses the metric system even after brexit or will it be Metrxit next?
@backYARDbanter132 жыл бұрын
UK has always used miles on the roads
@coco_bold2 жыл бұрын
@@backYARDbanter13 for cars maybe, but watches can be set both ways. And you don't run in motorways.

@@coco_bold but if you grow up using miles for moderate distances then you intuition is set up to find that measurement useful. Also if you are running 1.6km repeats it makes sense to call them miles so you are using a full multiple of the unit rather than the cumbersome 1.6 ... 1.6km repeats just doesn't flow nicely off the tongue
