WHAT A DAY! This one was super special. If you watched my Berlin Marathon Goals video you'll know I was aiming for 2:27 or a little faster... spoiler alert - I crushed that goal! More importantly I chased the process goal I had for this race: to cross that finish line feeling excited to race another marathon. This might be my favourite video we've ever created, please enjoy!

Waiting for the video to come out, I assumed the release date was mostly "ramping up the anticipation" based, but as a former video editor was also wondering how much the editing time factored in, since I expected this one to be a gem, which it was! At one point, I was totally marveling at how well put together it was.... a video shot and edited by a tiny production team rivaling or bettering anything broadcast by the big networks... hats off! Love the (running and editing 😜) grind!!

I had a friend running so I was tracking him. After he finished, it suddenly occurred to me that, after watching your lovely videos that you were going for a PB in Berlin so I looked you up and I was weirdly delighted for you - a total stranger - that you’d achieved a massive PB and then I was desperate to see this video and kept searching for it and got more and more excited to see it. the strange power of KZbin! Massive congratulations to you. I’m a slow plodder but you inspire me to be a better runner. Thank you!

Hey Phily! A fan from Bangalore, India. Truly brought tears to my eyes. So much of our lives are filled with “perceived” failures (when they really aren’t) but these moments of success are really actually reflective of a continued series of events that result in a final medal of sorts (very much like a marathon). Your honest and genuine reflection of self, your motto (love the grind), your partnership with Daniel (shout to Daniel) and the love for running you inspire means a lot to this random beginner runner on the other side of the globe. Lots of love to you both and cheering you on for future success.

So proud of you Phily! Glad we both left Berlin with a new PR!! I definitely thought about “loving the grind” over the last half of the race to help me push through the pain. Hope you were able to relax, recover, and celebrate after the race, and I’m eager to see what’s next for you!

I knew the result. I knew what happened. But I still sat there completely tensed up for the whole race portion, and cheered and clapped when you crossed the line! Congratulations. Thanks for sharing this experience with us ❤.

Still smiling for you a week later, and thank you for getting this out to us so quickly so we can all share with you. Beautifully captured epic experience, particularly with the addition of the hard times, the fans, and your team. Going to be a re-watch classic, esp for those days when a little mental boost is needed. Gooo Philyyyyy!

Insane that Daniel matched the sick-ness of the run to the editing on this. A legit movie, crushing it! 🔥👌
