Odin is with us (I know that this isn’t what you meant but whenever Vikings would go to battle, they would see a huge group of crows, or a murder of crows if you will, show up on the battlefield and for them it was a indicator that Odin was with them and so of course they fought and at the end of the battle the crows ate the dead. They crow had realize when they see soldiers go to battles that there’d be a lot of dead people by the end so they will be able to eat.) That’s partially why the comparison of crows and death started because anytime that soldiers would see crows in the trees, waiting after the battle they knew that death was near.
