Absolutely insane talent, covering a wildly technical song, from one of my top 2 favourite bands. Brilliantly done, bro. I play a bit of guitar, but you were making some chord shapes that hurt my hand just thinking about, and then as if that wasn't enough, tapping/hammering & bending em. Great job, man! For some reason this song reminds me of After the Burial - Berzerker. Prob, due to crazy can-can over the fretboard on lead parts and chunky hammer-in-your-face rythms. Been headbanging to this song for quite some time and always wondered how guitar parts look like. Now I know. Thanks!

Good stuff! Did you leave the original song completely untouched in mixing? Did you doubletrack and panned L and R or what was your process?

Original song is slightly eqed in the high mids to drown out a bit of the original guitar. Double tracked hard L and R with starndard eq (highpass and low pass with a few notches to remove mud), compression and multiband compression around 250 for the chug stuff

@@MarcReinl Thank you, thats super helpful! Which compressor do you use? Have you ever tried eqing before the amp sim too? I found that that cleans up the mud on my 7-string pretty well.
