As a fan since 1993 this literally makes me well up for some reason hard to explain...it's a brighter world with these guys out there still making moments like these

Right? Miracle, them coming along when they did, overlapping the Dead, so that magical spectacle gatherings never did die after the 1965. The greedheads could start grinding us down unless a new power rises up soonish.

You kids are lucky.. glad to see they still brining the joy. I remember beingat the final show at Coventry and I'm glad they came back.. I'm 47 and retired from the scene. But I'm happy for you kids. Keep it alive and take care of each other

Thanks kind internet stranger for posting this! Been a phan for close to 30 years and never seen anything like it. I do feel bad for whoever had to pick all those jaws up off the floor of MSG last night, but wow - what a show! Happy 2024!
@JArtinger4256 ай бұрын
Some say the roar from inside MSG was so loud, that at that moment, the phans drowned out most of Manhattans street noise.

Took some time for me to really believe they were even doing it, we get fucked with so much and teased…and then you finally realize no wait. This…is…IT! So wild. Thank you Phish

When the rhombus rose, I started to lose my shit. I still get teary eyed watching these vids. 27 years I been chasing this unicorn, and by the grace of god I got it! But I kept thinking that for the remainder of the second set. "WOULD this be a FULL Gamehengdge or was there a bigger gag in play?" Wasn't until they ACTUALLY continued the story in the third set that I started to believe there would be no fuckery this time! And I was on the floor for NYE. Been 24 years since I had a 4 night run at MSG, and BOY was it worth it!

I don't consider myself in the phamily, just a passive phish observer since the mid 90's. This is such an incredible musical and artistic event! What must be going through Trey's noggin as all this unfolds? Just wild. Bravo to all involved, I get happy tears watching all the joy in this room. PS - that AC/DC Bag is 🔥

The first show where, “you didn’t have to be there” to get IT. This is for everyone that loves Phish. That’s how genius they are with marketing, lure, talent and career longevity. If you know, you know, and believe me, that’s how they persevere.

Absolutely thank you! If there’s one show I wish I could’ve made it’s this (And sphere maybe). Can’t tell you how much phish makes me weepy with how imaginative they are and give the phans what they want & more. It’s a lovely symbiosis

Best Phish show ever! I've waited 32 years, exactly 250 shows, 70 at MSG, and 20 on NYE for this magic moment to happen. There's a lot of people complaining about this or that, mostly bc they weren't there. Or maybe they just started listening to Phish and don't recognize how legendary this moment was. Was it perfect? In a "Wabi-Sabi" sense, yes, all things are.
@joenartowicz1996 ай бұрын
Exactly...the only people complaining are the ones that weren't there and need to make themselves feel better about it. 100%

@erikcarrillo7896 ай бұрын
Legendary is an understatement :D Those same complainers likely also don't know the meaning of the rhombus ;)

Thank you for sharing this with us. Can’t wait to watch all of it. They really went above & beyond with this retelling, and gave everyone a proper performance of the thing fans hold in the highest regard from the band. Jealous of those who were there, but happy they got the full experience. Well played, boys.

Rhombus is a sculpture and it’s at the Institute for advanced study in Princeton New Jersey where Trey and tom used to write songs. Divided sky was written at the rhombus .
@6sfo6 ай бұрын
@@mikevalencia-nk2bm They banged on the rhombus until they had some musical phrases - and then fleshed it out into a song later on. They were busy praying to it and setting a fire in it at the time.

Why tell other people what to do?
@erikcarrillo7896 ай бұрын
I dont know how they do it. Or how tapers had such discipline back in the day when it was mostly cassette tapes, but I respect their devotion, and appreciate their work. We all play a part, I am sure the OP was enjoying the moment as much as the rest of us!

Nostalgia. And I'm here for it. First heard this narration in a cassette trade by mail in 1994 - - before the last two 'performances' that summer.

@@gmcsrbosavl6964 Even when it's awful?
@gmcsrbosavl69646 ай бұрын
@@MichaelLisk you’re trolling, but i’ll play along. What is awful to you may not be awful to someone else. So yes, people like all kinds of things that you consider to be awful. And it doesn’t make anybody right or wrong; we all like what we like. Seems like bands like Phish - bands who are clearly an aquired taste who somehow have managed to aquire a huge, obsessive fan base - really seem to rub some people the wrong way and also seem to attract a lot of trolls. “Why do people like something I think is awful?” Well junior, it is as simple as this: they don’t think it’s awful.
@patrickmorley98446 ай бұрын
Fucking bullshit, why the boys wait so long. I envy anyone that was there. But I will say this, I saw it when it was pure.😉
