With your second ending, I'd include a shot of Harry making his way to a crying Christine and hugging her, just to confirm they both survived, then cut to the Phantom's burning body in the remains of the chandelier (maybe include a close-up of the mask burning away to reveal his face), and then the movie ends.

Sir Christopher Lee as the Phantom...sigh...If only it had been. Apparently, it WAS under consideration, but it didn't pan out for one reason or another. And given his love of opera and phenomenal singing voice, it's a shame it didn't. (And yes, Peter Cushing wasn't known for playing Hammer bad guys, but his Victor Frankenstein proved he could...the most unsympathetic version of Victor I'd ever seen on film. Of course, his most famous non-Hammer role was a villain as well...)

Awesome PR! I love the 1989 Robert Englund Phantom. But I'd change a few things with it too. I'd change the setting to 1880's Paris and remove the time travel element. Most of the plot would follow the book with a few new additions. The Faustian elements would stay but with a few changes where Erik himself is some kind of demonic magician. He would still be deformed (not disfigured) but more accurate to the book, and he still skins his victims to cover it. Spiritualism was popular in the victorian era, so perhaps a still grieving Christine seeks out a medium who performs a seance and Erik appears pretending to be her father's ghost and manipulates her into a pact with him. Raoul can still die while trying to rescue Christine after her abduction and it ends with a showdown between her and Erik.

I hate that they keep screwing your channel. I love your content. I'm trying to figure out ways around the bots myself. My Love Never Dies drinking game was my favorite video I've done and had to upload it to Facebook instead. You might be able to appeal it under KZbin's "fair use" clause. Keep up the good Phantomy phight! Lol

I think in the final cut of the film, Lord Ambrose must've gotten so frightened by Petrie's disfigured face that all that time while the opera's happening, he runs around all of London like a madman yelling, "The ghost exists! The ghost exists!", or something like that, but the people who didn't attend the opera think he's just insane, so they call the authorities who bring him to a local mental institution, and he most likely dies during his time there (maybe suicide). That's what I like to think happened, at least, but your ending idea actually sounds pretty damn epic. It'd be a bit like a couple of the Hammer Dracula films in which Dracula and Van Helsing have their final battle.

I can't help but think of Friday the 13th when watching this version. Jason decided to give up killing naughty teenagers and took to living in a sewer playing the organ. 😏

I'd say Michael Myers, not Jason. The Herber Lom mask resembles more of Michael Myers from Halloween. Coincidentally, in Halloween 8, Michael does live in the sewers underneath his home. AND coincidentally, a character watches the 1925 Phantom in Halloween 6!

Hello dear PR I recently discovered the 5 additional scenes of the TV version of the Hammer Phantom from 1962 with Herbert Lom. I found all 5 on KZbin and thought possibly they would make good material for a new video, if you would be interested. I found them by simply searching Phantom of the Opera 1962 deleted scenes and found all 5. They were shot by Universal without any input by Hammer. They are mostly scenes featuring two police inspectors trying to figure out what is going on at the opera. One scene included is a new attack by the Dwarf on the woman D'Arcy replaces Christine with. I hope you can find them and make a video on them. I would love to hear your thoughts on them.

@@srstriker6420 He mentioned the Count Duckula episode in the opening of his review of the Dario Argento. Go check that bit out. There's also an episode of The Muppet Show that has a backstage storyline in which Fozzie and the others are worried that there's a Phantom of the Muppet Show (it's during the first season). The whole show (well, minus two episodes) is on Disney+ if you wanna check it out.
