Excellent video. Never seen such an adorable bus go ridiculously fast. Other than the time I rode a Santa Monica Big Blue Bus NABI 40-LFW on the R10, and that thing was aggressive.

This thing seriously moves! But then again it would, with a 250hp 6.7L 6 cylinder engine; here in the UK Enviro200s usually have a 140hp or 160hp 4.5L 4 cylinder engine, except for the longest 11.3m version which has a 205hp 6.7L 6 cylinder engine. The 250hp engine in this little bus in the video powers Enviro400 double deckers in the UK!

RWL2012 I don't even think the 6 cylinders we have, have this much horse power! I'm looking at this and seeing Enviro400 standards too! 😂

It's an Alexander Dennis Enviro300 in the USA. In Britain they are considered bog-standard, boring buses. American buses are the sort of buses that used to be made in Britain in the 1990s. The reason British buses are so modern & American buses so old is because in America, bus operation isn't a very profitable business & so is usually done by the local council, with businesses bribing officials to close down bus stops in front of rival businesses, making the networks very inconvenient. This inconvenience makes the buses unpopular with citizens, so the only people that use them are people who don't have a driving licence (or are old & have been given bus passes to encourage them not to drive to reduce accidents in some states). In Britain, the bus market is completely different. In London, everyone takes the bus on a fortnightly or greater basis, but they don't do it because they have to, they do it because they don't want to have to find parking. US cities have parking craters, where all the buildings have been demolished to make a desert for people to park there cars in. Land in London is more valuable, so no-one can afford to make a surface car park. Parking is kerbside, with a 30-minute time limit, in a multi-storey, where people don't like parking because it is used by drug dealers at night, or underground, which is expensive. Buses stop in convenient places & passengers needn't find parking. If buses were not nice, travellers would find parking as it would be better than the bus ride. In the countryside, buses are run by private companies, & while not many people use them, it only takes a local pressure group to go out & buy an Optare Solo for the bus to have a competitor.

Even now, adding bus lanes is a controversial move (in New York City, of all places, where the national average outstrips the city's rate of ownership).
