I find it so sad, when people like this channel here, take the time to teach us new techniques, and trolls feel the need to give it a thumbs down. I just don't understand why people feel the need to do that. Sorry had to vent, lol Anyways, excellent video! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge with us

Great the way you topped off the video with a review. I think some people starting out would simply like a video that explains what a layer mask really is. I've always found that anything in an instruction that is assumed to be clear to the student and isn't causes the students mind to freeze and not get what follows clearly. They may remember steps, but they don't understand why things are working. So, explaining why one uses a layer mask, and what it is, is important even with this.

Thanks for the video! Your outcome was great. :] I have a question, though: why did you duplicate the blue channel? I mean, if I'm going to end up working with normal layers, can't I simply Ctrl+click the original channel?

Great tutorial, Aaron! Instead of creating two different color layers and adding a mask on the top color layer to simulate a gradient, couldn't you just have one layer and use a gradient layer effect? I guess it would be faster to change the gradient colors if I did it your way.

Thanks for the great video! I have a newbie question: I've not been able to replicate the process because I can't get a black&white drawing to show black&white channels. It shows all my channels in RBG but they are all coloured as opposed to what we can see in your video. If I switch to grayscale, I can only see one gray channel. Can you put me on the right track there?

Great information . On the negative side - too fast! I kept looping at 13:32, but still can't figure out how you did the move - far too fast (for me anyway).Keeping up with your cursor on a laptop screen is also very difficult and upsets concentration. However, good info - thanks.
