I know some prefer daytime play, but just for people who don't know, the night time in ASA is now more playable than in ASE. The moonlight and ob aura make things way easier to see than before without a torch. You can do whatever you would do in daytime. I think night time is very important especially for aberration.

I always used to swap my settings over for aberration lol 70%night 30%day. I had the opposite settings for every other map but I've kept day nigh cycle vanilla since starting asa

Note on difficulty, you may have to select Hard difficulty too. Dont forget to do a dino wipe command as well as save and restart to confirm everything saved.

I agree that the different phases of the game have their own savor. I sometimes will just zero out player xp and admin command in certain levels when I hit self determined progression points. At normal xp, it feels like I'm unlocking fabricator engrams before I even have my first beach bob base done.

Thanks Phlinger for going over this again, I have changed my setting to 1440/1000 and my game has not crashed. I have a 4070ti and it has helped tremendously and I haven't had a crash once. I did crash often though when I was at 1920/1280 and it was frustrating. I am watching while I can and this time of year is dangerous and busy for me. Keep it up my friend!!

A note about your settings: I don't know what official servers are set to but your current settings in Advanced, Tamed Dinos, are actually set to be much more difficult than it was in Evolved. Those settings are affected when you select Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulty presets and choosing Medium gives you the same Tamed Dino settings as what Evolved had as default. I realised this after setting it to Hard myself and then finding it excruciatingly difficult to get my boss-fighting creatures' health up to where it needs to be, which is what I see you also have in the video. This can be changed to what Evolved used by choosing Medium, as I mentioned, but that will also affect a variety of other settings, so the numbers can also be adjusted manually.

@@wazzup9305 I play with most of my settings on the Hard preset since for the most part they do seem to line up with the old default, but I manually change the Tamed Dino settings to what they would be on Medium. I think the Hard Tamed Dino settings make mutations more necessary than they would be otherwise but I prefer to have those be an option rather than a requirement

You can select hard difficulty but if you want the stats the same as ASE you just need to change the following: Tamed Dino Stats per level: Health: 0.2 Damage:0.17 Tamed Dino Add per level Health: 0.14 Damage 0.14 Tamed Dino Affinity: Health 0.44 Damage 0.44

Might be handy to state what difficulty preset your setting started from? I noticed when I started comparing that even from the first page (Player) my settings were all different from yours even though I also didn't change anything. EDIT: After some testing with the various difficulties, it looks like Phlinger is starting from the "Hard" preset whereas I was on "Medium"

Just a note on day cycle changes you made- this will cause issues with Raptor Clause during Winter Wonderland- if it follows the same mechanics as ASE. In ASE, you would get significantly fewer drops per night, and nights happen less often, due to the shortened window. I’d advise putting these back to default ranges if you intend to run that event.

I'm coming back to this after working on the island bosses and realizing the tamed dino stats on Hard are kinda too punishing for bosses, even though the rest of the game feels fine. In ASE i had a rex boss army that was something like 15k hp base health and 550 melee after imprint with somewhere in the mid 50's for tamed stats. At max level they were about 30k hp and 1200% melee (depending how you spent points) In ASA i was breeding rexes for mutations and have 65 health and 85 melee rex with base stats of 18k health and 680 melee after imprint. These max out at 25k hp and 1000% melee, which is a HUGE nerf compared to ASE even though im starting with higher wild stats + mutations. The medium preset for tamed dino stats is closer to what ASE used to be, and honestly the health modifier feels ok, but the melee stats seem FAR too low and make boss prep VERY difficult. I am probably going to adjust the melee tame stats to be somewhat inbetween the medium and hard presets as if I am having a harder time on the bosses in ASA then ASE even with better saddles AND stats its not very enjoyable.

Thank you for sharing this. Are you sure about the "hard" preset being the official dino stats? I used "restore defaults" before I made my changes and the stats are different from yours. Singleplayer settings are off. On default for example I have 0.2 on the health stat per level, which is a hugh difference and may lead to op dinos.

Might be a little later, but I had to turn on single player settings to get a lower wait time to breed dinos with your settings. I don't know why, when i had single player settings off it would take about 20 minutes to breed again. With them on it was about two and a half minutes.

So I changed the settings to the ones like this and previously I was getting Dino's spawning at 150 and I didn't change much I didn't even touch the maximum difficulty because I left it on and left difficulty to 1 but now I'm getting Dino's spawning at level 1. Idk what I did wrong, I'm on single player so how can I fix this?

I think a lot of them must be console commands and I'm not sure how to go about finding what works. Are these setting the same for Scorched earth? Im getting stuff from drops with ridiculous stats, 500% asc crossbow??? I stopped getting XP😢 Also even after setting up the game in default “medium” settings in the Advanced section-Tamed dino some stats are different for me like “damage” should i change all stats to look like Phlingers? I want to play as close to default official multiplayer pve with faster breeding and gathering mostly.

I've been playing with your Baby Mature Speed and Cuddle Interval settings and found that it didn't work for yutyrannus, like you suspected. Setting Cuddle Interval to 0.04 seems to work though and I haven't encountered issues with that yet

WARNING: To anyone looking to update their settings to match. I did this and all my tamed dinos are now seriously nerfed. I don't know if it is a bug or the nerf is actually a result of the changed settings, but EG my 145 (pre-tame, fully leveled post tame) thyla went from 25k health and 900% melee damage to 5k health and 250% melee damage after changing the settings and now it nearly dies against anything I fight :(

Did you have Single Player Settings turned on before? It's possible it makes that much difference. If you decide to turn it back on, the breeding times won't line up quite right because the base values for the multipliers are different.

I always alter the taming and breeding related parts, and crops growth rate... waiting around for several hours to tame a single dinosaur or raise a single baby is just ridiculous when you only have a few hours a day, and I would like to get crops before next week. I honestly don't know how people can stand to play on official rates... who has that kind of time? Last time I tried official on ASE I could barely tame a few high level raptors in the amount of time I had for my play session.

With the breeding maturation speed I found the ankys will grow up to fast to get the 100% imprint, they end up at 75% with a dozen or so seconds left before I could imprint again. I’m lowering it to 38 for maturation speed I’ll tell my results if I remember to. Nope 👎 still not a full imprint

It is the middle of the map Latitude 50.00 × longitude 50.00 The upper left corner would be zero-zero, and the lower right corner will be 100×100

It is a reference to the map coordinates 50 by 50, which is in the center of the map. The bug he mentions is building pieces sometimes seeming to vanish when you place them and then later you will find them in the middle of the air at those map coordinates

Can anyone tell me if the glitch in ASE, which saw all creatures in a cave disappeared if you reloaded the game or simply left the cave, as been resolved in ASA? If is one of the biggest issues I've had with the game, particularly how it makes it so hard to find dung beetles. It got to the point I wouldn't even go spelunking to find the beetles; I'd gather the dung needed, then just spawn them in wild and tame them somewhere safe.

@@ethanmcneal3871 I had my suspicions. :D These days I always make sure either a) I've got plenty of time to go through the cave before starting, and/or b) I back up the save files in case something happens, so all the critters will still be there when I reload. Thanks for the confirmation, I've been debating whether to upgrade to ASA. What I've seen looks great, I'm just always reluctant to take on a property when it's new and the most obvious kinks are still being worked out.

Same ones. I don't change them because the settings numbers is math and these ones allow ALL dinos to be bred and raised. If you change the settings for one dino it will throw it off for 5 others.

Great video it really helped me in my game. I have a question I played for awhile and now I would like to start over but the map does not reset? How do I start a new game and the map clears to a restart level? I have deleted my character, I have changed my name and it still will not reset my game map. the does not start at a fresh map it still shows my game play. Nice, looks like for the most part you use the same single player settings I use. Only real difference is I always turn off Friendly Fire - I got tired of small tames - like the dilo and such - and baby dinos running in front of me just as I would go to harvest a corpse, and I would end up hitting and killing them. lol

I guess you can just turn it on when u start breeding for mutations but without friendly fire you well have no way to deal with the hundreds of babies that don't have the mutation you need.

@@Handle-this-15Actually the trick is PvE rules off, no friendly fire on. You simply unclaim the ones you do not want, and they become chow for your tames. ;)

Hi Phlinger, like your stuff :) for baby mature speed I do 13 and baby cuddle interval I do .05, this works out to about 3- 4 minute cuddle intervals and 25% - 100% imprinting per 'cuddle' depending on the size of your tame. this works with argentavis size and up. I think I did it with the otter too but that was a while ago, I might have lowered it some for the otter.

@@lukebisgrove4352 I have been gaming since the mid 80s. I have a VAST collection of games. This is one of the worst releases I have ever seen and I played the first one. It was bad but this is a whole other level. Have you even looked what the hackers are doing? And why they can do what they are doing? WC gave them the keys to the prison. Not to mention the bugs are the same bugs from the first one indicating that they lied and used the same old code. It wasn't built from the ground up.. Performance is just out the door.. Spawns are broken and the crashing continues. All this info is out there, people are just willingly blind.
