Also beginners need to know, pickaxe harvests more meat from dinos, more thatch from wood more metal from stones, hatchet harvests more hide from dinos, more wood from trees and typically more stone or flint from rocks, hope this helps y'all in some way or another and have a great time playing this new and improved ark over the original, I've got about 12hrs in to this newer version and I'm really loving it, I played original ark for years and this new and improved version really picks up and improves on all things that were lacking slightly and/or missing from the original game, can't wait for ark 2 to release 😁😁😁

It’s worth mentioning that the Stimberries are far more useful on their own than most people give them credit for. One of the most annoying dinos to come across earlier in the game are Troodons, they typically roam in small groups and apply torpidity on attack. Having a healthy supply of Stimberries in your hotbar is one of the only counters to these early-game menaces as they can typically knock you out after 2-3 hits and only a few seconds. Eating large amounts of the berries will dehydrate you, so be sure to keep a water skin on you or avoid taking fights far from water sources. Titanaboas are also commonly found near East spawns 2 and 3 and have and even faster knock out effect than the Troodons.

Also you can feed your dinos stimberries to reclaim their stamina.

Also noticed when in free creation mode, do not get too high in the air, you will exit the biome and lose everything you had on you. There is no ceiling anymore. You will have to respawn back in your bed without anything you had earlier.

Wow, the graphics look amazing. I was addicted to ARK SE for 3 years and logged on every day. That was about 5-6 years ago now. Seeing Ascended and how they've kept it pretty much identical to Evolved except for the graphics is so cool! I think it's time I venture back to the island. A good way to gather Fiber is under water. It’s way more efficient than gathering from bushes, but also more dangerous getting eaten by some big fishes 😅

huh. so SA got some quality of life improvements from the original, including a feature we've been asking for since basically the beginning of SE(babies). Did they also reduce the insane installation size and load times? I imagine it is nice to not need to waste engrams on the different wall types anymore at least.

If anything the install size is even bigger. Currently, Ark Survival Ascended is 80GB installed (on Steam) with no mods and only The Island installed. I haven't noticed the load times being particularly long but I always install games of this type on an M.2 NVME SSD.

Crafting skill also increases the speed at which you can craft your normal crafting objects from backpack, such as foundations and early primitive weapons...

I've noticed that some of the foliage yields only fiber...no berries. Very nice early game when you need fiber and don't have the sickle unlocked.

You can run though regular tall grass while holding down Gather and get decent Fiber

Turning off camera shake.. does not completely turn it off. Is there any way to make it completely still when harvesting trees and rocks w/out having to scroll back into 3rd person??? Yes there is it is called melee animation or close to that. I don't remember what tab it is under just look through all settings and look for the melee setting.

Unfortunately wildcard ruined it for PlayStation players by letting pc and Xbox users on first. By the time PlayStation users get on, the map is already littered with foundations and bases everywhere. They’ve taken all the good spots and walled em off with Dino gates and turrets. Common courtesy and at least wipe the whole map for a fair start.

​@choshow86 I have PS5 and I have no problem admitting the Xbox is better, but I'm on the PS5 because I play Rainbow 6 Siege and it's extremely hard to use mouse and keyboard on PS5, whereas on Xbox it's basically allowed. Ubisoft has a detector called "mousetrap" that adds input lag to those they detect using MnK, but there are devices for both consoles now that allow passthrough of MnK undetected. The barrier to entry for MnK on PS5 is a custom-made controller that's like half the price of the console, but people still buy it. I turn crossplay off and just report any obvious MnK users, because coming from PC originally it's pretty easy for me to tell.

Hello:) Thank you for all of the videos on Ark Evolved. I finished all the maps in old Arlk and your videos were invaluable! Now I'm about to start playing Ark Ascended and I have a question. How is the situation with the engrams? Are they still not balanced for the single player? What I mean is in the Ark Evolved game single-player had to be very selective since there are too many engrams for one person to learn. Is it the same in Ark ascended? Is there an auto engram mod of some sort?

The easy starts are not so easy to me, lol. I started my first playthrough of an ARK game ever a couple days ago and my experience was nothing like this. I got killed on the beach by roving packs of raptors SO many times. They just spawn out of nowhere, often in groups of 6+ and just kill me and my tames instantly and one time it was right on top of my little beach hut and took me forever to lure them away. I almost quit playing because of that, since I couldn't make any progress, but it hasn't happened in a while. I'm relieved, but also I kinda feel like I'm being lulled into a false sense of security by this sadist of a game, lol. I'm afraid to tame any more dinos because I'm probably just going to lose them all again.

I hope they fix the spacial audio because it freaks me out every time it sounds like a dino is right next to me and it's way over to my left or right, or it's just a fish being super loud from under water some how lol. Or I'll be flying and something sounds like its right next to me but it's way below me as I fly over. Either way im having fun back on the Island again. Also I hope they slightly raise the first person camera as it feels like the camera is in my chest and not where my characters head should be.
