Phnom Penh Night Life 2024 - I tried to make a night life video but went home early, shocked at the high prices in comparison to Pattaya, Thailand where I live.
Whilst the people were lovely I just couldn't come at the quoted price of drinks.
Obviously this was a quick low budget trip to Phnom Penh and the average tourist would likely travel to Cambodia / Phnom Penh with a bit more spending money! The ambience of the place is fabulous and I can highly recommend visiting Phnom Penh for both the night life, the dance clubs and of course the rich culture.

i was 10 months solo through Taiwan, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Phillipines last year. Great way to roll. I returned to PPenh this year because i love it. IMO Cambodia is the best beer in SEA. And you have a chance to win a free beer every time you open a can.

I did a month in Thailand last year alone cos my mate broke his foot a few days before the flight. Never felt lonely the whole time it was great. It does get a bit draining having to watch you own back and having no one to help sometimes though. But much rather that than staying home and doing nothing 👍🏻

I love traveling alone but yeah it could be lonely at times...he he! But, it is easier to move around...imho. I haven't been to Cambodia yet but its on my travel bucket list.

Absolutely love traveling alone. All around $$ remain low. Cheers with the beer. Absolutely love all the neon lights, including on the boats. I have heard that the busiest time is from 12am until 3/4am (( like Bui Vien )) Excellent Day 2

I didn't have a bad experience nor great experience there.. women were extremely pleasant and didn't get shook down for cash. Depends on the night and place likely.

😂 sometimes the older we get the more familiar a place is the more comfortable ones feels , but yeah I’ve traveled alone for many years around the world but I do love having a mate or local to bounce off.

I had a similar experience the first time I traveled in that area. I wasn't familiar with the local currency and tipped an incredibly low amount. I think there has to be a good balance with the amount you tip. The amount I tipped was pretty much pointless but tipping too much can be offensive as if you are careless with your money. Anyways, I can tell you were out of your element! Thanks for sharing it with us anyways 🙏

There isn't much nightlife in PP. Most of the bars have pros in them. I went to 2 bars during my stay, got hit on by a pro or two. Once I told them I'm not interested in paying their high price, they left me alone. PP is like a greatly watered down version of bangkok. It's hard to find the Khmer only bars, but the girls are more shy as they don't really speak English. It's a much more relaxed vibe compared to khaosan and much much smaller.

Too funny I always slip into speaking Thai when I've had a few beers. Being a solo traveller is great. Unlike one of your other viewers, I'm not an extrovert. I've met so many people over my at least 17 years year of travel and I still remain friends with many of them.

You made it out to pontoon alone like a champ 👊😎 haha, that little restaurant you were sitting is probably the only legit joint without ladies … then right in front of it there’s the 7/11 where you buy beer and ice and just drink with random people at the tables in front 😂 As for traveling alone; I think being pushed out of our comfort zone is what’s makes us better traveller’s… Getting a proper visa has made me lazy 100% ! It shows in my travels and the fact I haven’t dropped shit in 6 months 😂 stay visa runnin’, this is the way😎

dude theres a whole other new nightlife area that you missed, its at street 308 aka Bassac Street. i think thats where tourists go nowadays, its a whole district of cool little alleyways

I had to do a visa run 2022,so though sod it i'll fly phnom penh..i booked a hotel on st136,actually top end of "that strip" of bars..😬 Definatley daunting compared to Thailand.Sat on that landing for a beer,and 7 girls followed me upstairs.I bought a few drinks for me and 1 girl.I prefer Thailand.😄🙏

I've Been Visiting Phnom Penh Regularly Since 2009. I've Always Enjoyed The Place & Watched It Grow Over The Years. It Was Great As 4-7 Day Side Trip From Pattaya. Cambodian Girls 👯‍♀️ Are Very Sweet. Loved Street 136 Bars & Pontoon Club. But My Last Trip In September 2022 I Had A Horrible Experience There With The Girls, Got Ripped Off At A Massage Place With Money Stolen Out Of My Wallet & Noticed How Expensive Everything Has Gotten Now. It Really Turned Me Off From Visiting Again. It's A Shame As I Always Enjoyed My Previous Trips There Over The Last 15 Year's.

Yes you right it's very expensive now girls want $100 for short time and lady drinks are $5 , it's all US dollar which makes it even more worse, and many thief's on river side pick pocketing and stealing phones from foreigners, I also lost $200 at that cheap massage place

Yeah it is a shake down at times. I spent 3k USD there one week and the week started off with me drinking 75 cent drinks at the black cat bar. A lot of real weird expats there
