Phob GCC 2.0 Review! - Is This Good?

The Phob GCC is an open source GameCube controller, made by a handful of talented engineers in the Smash Bros Community!
It aim's to create a consistent controller, that won't break down over time, due to long periods of usage!

alright i need to correct you. In ultimate an OEM controller the trigger/shoulder potentiometer is the one that activates, not the digital press [the little pcb that clips in the same place as the rumble motor]. The digital shoulder pcb does nothing, that is why triggers are "inconsistent" in ULT, because it is an anolog value to "press them". And yes phob have that option given how they are made. IF on a OEM, players have to mod their triggers for them to have "digital properties". Regardless awesome video and good day. PS given the magnetic nature of the Phobs I would recommend anyone who flies with them to not pass them directly on TSA Xray machines, they tend to mess up the magnets.

When you say TSA X ray machines, do you mean like the scanner thing they put your bags through at security in airports?

@@imjustcody while this has not being tested scientifically any strong magnet can mess up phobs. So yes i would assume those xray machines are strong enough. I dont have prove it messes up phobs, but you know something to keep in mind. I dont have a info/answer to prevent it, if that is the case. :(

Have PhobGCC 1.2.3 board, there's no need to update my board to 2.0.0?

Idk I really couldn't tell ya. I don't know what all the differences are. I've never had a version 1 phob before so Idk much about it. But what I can say is that the phob 2.0.0 board is made super well and has button remapping and different trigger options. I'm not sure if what you have has those or not. But I'm sure you'd know obviously. So it's just really up to you at the end of the day.

I tried linking the one I bought, but it's all sold out now sadly, I'd recommend checking etsy.com. there's tons of modders on their that make and sell them, that's the website where I got mine.

Only use mayflash or nintendo and use both the black and the white usb. Any other adapter is likely to break the phob

Many top players would say at this level of play you really don't need to dish out that type of money for a controller. If you can get an OEM that lets you turn around laser both ways consistently, I would argue you're fine. So many other technical things you can work on here before that controller would even be necessary for improved play. Just an FYI to anyone new out there thinking about getting into the game and being allured by an expensive controller thinking it is required to get the technical fundamentals down. This is like buying a really expensive racket in tennis when you still have not learned the basics. I noticed you were not comfortable with wavedashing out of shine, short hop lasering, or even quick aerials. We all start somewhere which is fine, but I do not believe you're able to see any meaningful consistent improvement due to your controller as you said when you still don't have those general inputs down at this point in time.

I mean wouldn't that be cheating essentially? A controller that automatically makes you better wouldn't be fair to your opponent. It's just a controller that's made to withstand the test of time with some customization features.
