so for anyone watching this, I managed to find one that just needed to apply the patch pkg and then choose the desired options. it had most of the mods already installed. I don't want to make it too obvious so it doesn't get nuked but lets just say 'roms' are 'fun'. it should take you to a 1fichier which contains both the main and patch pkg

Update: Tried game "vanilla", no fixes, no mods, Tesselation does indeed work, as well as no crashes (for now) due to blood/particles, this update to the emulator seems pretty amazing. I would still recommend using a few of the fixes for stability/framerate, again thanks for the nice Xmas gift! Update2: Vertex explosions DO still happen, so that fix is necessary

Yeah, this video was out of date the day it was released because of version 0.5.0 coming out on the same day. A great pity as the video is very good, BUT it only covers version 0.4.0 of shadPS4. Version 0.5.0 is a lot better.

It is playable on the main branch. Honestly, some of the info in this vid is out of date. For example, tessellation works just fine on the main branch currently. I've only needed the vertex explosion fix mod to play the game at a pretty stable 60fps at 1080p

From my experience - the version I've had the most luck with was the diegolix build of shadps4 (the mainbb branch for the most stable experience). It has all the effects (fire, fog, items etc) to my knowledge and I believe it also has Cainhurst snow effect as well. The only mod I'm playing with are the vertex explosion one (you can create your character on that build just fine. Create your character first and when you're in game, then install the mod so don't have to worry about the face disabled problem) and the L3 jump button one (for convenience). I was using the RAM spike mod as well but that build has updated so much that I don't notice much of a difference when I had the mod and I don't now. Maybe all this helps someone. Try it out. The game is definitely playable and very fun. One edit here - I enabled the patch "disable http request" in the patches option to try and reduce the crashes (I saw a guy on KZbin having this patch disabled as well when he was showing the game on Steam Deck) and it did the trick for me. I had the emulator crash on me every 5 mins. But after this patch, I could play for hours.

man I've tried both the video's way of installing, as well as your way and it still crashes for me. The first time it started crashing, i downloaded the version of shadPS4 you suggested, and the game ran fine for an hour. But now it just crashes every time i go to the next room. Haven't made any other changes that would cause this.

Holy crap! I am so happy I had my buddy make me a digital copy of bloodbone years ago when he had a modded ps4...I knew it would come in handy sometime! I still own 2 physical copies, but I made 3 seperate digital copies also, just in case! Thank you so much for this video...I was able to get it working at 1440p 60FPS with almost no dips, and I'm not even using the FPS boost mod that you suggested...I do have a very high end PC though...I'm not even having too many graphical issues, except about every 30-40min the enemies turn invisible and I have to reload the game...Honestly, I will take that trade off to play at 60FPS! It is amazing! As soon as I get another paycheck I will be making donations to everyone involved...

Anything higher than 1080p and the game becomes unstable. If you look on the discussion forums for the mods that fix this game, the creator will warn you to not use 1440p or up.

For some things I noticed myself by far: Some animations on bosses are glitched (cleric beast for example) Nightmare fog is more transparent then it should be I can't see blood echoes There is a whole texture missing in the sewage of central yharnam that lets see void I also downloaded intell procesor fix and my game is much less glitching while loading new terrains, otherwise the only problems I encountered were those mentioned in the video. Probably the BEST guide for BBPC on yt

Thanks for the tutorial man, helped a lot with performance. I did not update the game correctly to 1.09, so now I can play it on 60fps although it's not too consistent, still better than out of the box emulator. Also, with the glowing items, they did not dissapear at all, the mods changed the yellow light to a white one similar to DS3, so that's nice. The game crashed just now, but it's less frequent now. No more vortex explotions, and the least demanding areas keep up at 60fps. My PC is not too powerful but it handles the game pretty well. 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060, i7 6700.

Finished already, started NG+, everything works. The only problems are crashing every 1hr 15 minutes (yes, I had a timer), and some sounds are missing after crashing, but they come back after few restarts. My process so far: - set up everything and open game - bug - see video and fix - open game and get next stage of crashes - the solution is shown like 10 seconds later in the video - repeat the process like 4 times because Im a bit retarded and I dont learn Conclusion - do everything this guy says and only then open the game to save yourself some trouble

Keep up the good work. For a mere 20€ I wouldn’t go through the trouble even though I’m intrigued. Just bought the GOTY version (physical ofc). However in a few years this will be de facto standardo to play Bloodborne.

Yes and no, I did some testing last night and essentially everything I explained is still true except that the main Nightly ShadPS4 release-train now has Tessellation support!

​@@PhobiaSoftLots of issues require small manual tweaks, mods or specialized forks but the only issues left after you get all of the above set up are the memory leak (the spike has been fixed tho) and vertex explosions without disabling facegen, the rest is/can be all fixed one way or another.
